The ambulance finally showed up. It felt like hours! FP holding a lifeless Alice in his arms while she fought for her life. They lifted her up into the ambulance and drove away. FP wasn't aloud in there with her so he drove his motorcycle to the hospital.
FP ran in and immediately asked about Alice.
"She's currently in surgery" the doctor replied
"How is she doing?" FP says nervously
"Not too good... she lost a lot of blood and we aren't sure what might happen. But miss Smith is a tough one and I'm sure everything will turn out fine" the doctors replied with a weak smile.
FP returned that smile. When the doctor left he fell down on a chair, put his head between his hands and started crying. Trying not to think about her while trying to think about her wasn't working out for him and it was very confusing...
* 6 Hours Later...*
"FP Jones?" The doctor says.
FP, Betty, Polly and Jughead all stand up in sync. While waiting for Alice to hopefully recover, FP called Betty who called Polly. Betty was with Jughead so he cane for support.
"That's me" FP replies.
"She's awake and asked for you" the doctor replied as he patted FP on the shoulder.
Fp couldn't help but smile. She was okay! She was alive and she wanted to see him!
He walked slowly towards her room and found her looking out the window from her bed. The pain it cause him to see her all beaten up was unbearable!
"Al, you wanted to see me?" He says as he walks into the door.
She turns her head and immediately smiles.
"How the hell did I get myself in this situation?" She says as she laughs.
"Only you could turn this into a joke" FP replies laughing with her.
He gently takes her hand into his.
"I'm so glad your okay" he says looking into her eyes.
"Me too" she smiles
"Mom!" Betty and Polly exclaim as they walk into the room.
FP quickly pulls his hand away hoping they wouldn't realize anything.
"Betty, Polly!" Alice exclaims as they both hug her.
"I don't know what I would have done if I would have lost you" Polly says tearing up a bit which of course made Alice tear up a bit too.
"So mom, while you were recovering. Um- i wrote a song for you and I'd like to sing it for you!" Betty says shyly.
"I would love to hear it!" Alice says as she strokes her daughter's hair.
Betty grabs her songbook and starts singing. It was beautiful and of course Alice teared up again. The beautiful moment suddenly turned for the worst. Alice's heart monitor suddenly started beeping faster and faster while Alice blacked out.
"I NEED A DOCTOR IN HERE!" FP yells in fear.
"HURRY!" Betty yells as tears escape her eyes.
The doctors quickly came in and rushed Alice into the ICU. Fear took over all of there bodies. Jughead was embracing Betty while FP hugged Polly for support. Not knowing whether she'd survive was killing them.
* 1 Hour Later*
"What's happening?" FP finally asks
"We are artificially supporting her blood pressure" he replies
"Is mom dying?" Betty says as she bursts into tears. Jughead quickly pulls her into a tight embrace.
"We're trying everything we can" the doctor says giving FP a sympathetic look as he leaves the room.
They all sat together on the edge of Alice's bed. All huddled together, hoping, PRAYING, she would wake up.
"Does she know we're here?" Betty asked
"Of course she does, do- do you want to say anything to her?" FP asked patting her on the shoulder.
"I don't know what to say!" Betty replied wiping tears from her face.
Suddenly Alice's eyes slowly opened. The all noticed and began to smile with excitement! Their mom, his love was okay!
Then the heart monitor went flat and her eyes shut...
"Noooooooo" the girls exclaim as they burst into tears laying on their mother holding her closely.
FP was in shock, did... did Alice, the love of his life just die?
Her places his hands on the girls shoulders as he himself started to cry.
He messed up, and it costed Alice her life.
"I will always love you Alice Susanna Smith, and I will take care of your kids, and always keep you in my heart" He said in his head
