And no one did...

Or so she thought.

She slumped on her bed with a sigh when a knock at her door scared her. She furrowed her brows before calling out to whoever was behind the door to come in.

Jellybean opened the door slowly with a soft smile that Alice returned. The girl closed the door behind her as Alice watched her carefully while taking her heels off.

"Can I sit?" JB timidly asks.

"Of course, sweetie." Alice smiles, patting the spot next to her.

JB fiddles with her fingers as she nervously walks over and sits next to the woman. She takes a deep breath before finally looking at Alice, who looked worried.

"I'm sorry." The girl breathes out.

"Oh honey, you don't have to be sorry about anything." Alice rubs her shoulder.

"Well I'm sorry that nobody told you. You should have known, you could've been helpful." Jellybean admits with an eye roll.

"Well I'm glad one person in this family sees that." Alice judges her, causing the girl to giggle lightly.

"You know, they never actually told me. I just overhead Betty on the phone with Charles, that's how I knew." Alice nods.

"Well thank you for checking up on me, JB."

"Alice, can I ask you a question?" She blurts out.

"Shoot."

"Are you and my dad going to..." her voice wanders off, not even wanting to utter the words breakup.

Alice sighs. She pulls the girl in for a hug and rubs her back lightly. "I could never leave your father, or you. I love you both so much. I can promise you I'm not going anywhere, it's your father's choice."

"Has he ever left you before?" JB asks, pulling back.

Alice gulps as tears fill her eyes. She squeezes them shut and shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I don't think I can talk about that right now."

"It's okay, I'm sorry I asked the question." JB intertwines her fingers with Alice's.

"It's all okay, JB." Alice wipes a tear.

"We were waiting on you to get home to watch the movie, but it got pretty late and Charles had to head back to the hotel really soon. Maybe you can come finish it with us?" JB raises an eyebrow.

"I'd love to, but I'm exhausted and It's pretty weird between everyone and me."

JB sighs. "I know, it sucks."

Alice laughs lightly and pulls the girl in once again for another hug. "Goodnight, sweetie."

"Night, Alice." The girl smiles as she gets up and walks out the door.

Alice decided that a nice long hot shower would feel good. So with that, she undressed and got in the steaming shower, letting all of her worries melt away...

"JB, what took you so long? I thought you were going to the bathroom." Betty asks her once she descends the stairs.

"I was talking to Alice." She shrugs, sitting back down on the couch between Charles and Betty.

All three heads turn to look at her. She eyes them, confused. "What?"

"How's she doing?" FP blurts out.

"She's sad." The teen says plainly.

Hearing those words were like a stab to FP's heart. Why couldn't she just let him apologize? He wanted to hold her all night, kiss her all day.
