Disclaimer: Abusive Relationship
---
"I don't want you seeing him anymore. He's not good for you." Your boyfriend Alex screams at you almost immediately after you open the door to your shared apartment. You had been hanging out with an old friend a lot lately, making your boyfriend jealous.
Christian Yelich and you grew up together. You were neighbors and went to the same school until college. He pursued a career in the MLB while you studied your ass off and became a doctor. You would cheer him on at every baseball game throughout his earlier life, until you went your separate ways, finally reconnecting when Alex took you to a Brewers game for your one year anniversary of dating.
Christian had recognized you in the crowd and sent his manager to go find you so he could say hello after the game. This ended with the two of you exchanging numbers and making plans to go out on a double date with Alex and Christian's girlfriend. However, Christian's relationship had ended only days after and little did you know that it was because Kiermaier had developed feelings for you.
You snap out of the memory and are faced with the cruel reality of your boyfriend's rage. This had gone on for a while, he would scream at you then tell you that it was because he loves you. But tonight was a different story.
You had just walked into your apartment after going to pick up Christian from the airport because his car was having the oil replaced. Alex obviously didn't like that the baseball player had caught your attention. You told him repeatedly that it was harmless and wouldn't affect your relationship with him.
"You don't get to tell me who can be a part of my life and who can't." You respond to Alex, showing a bit of confidence you didn't know you had. He gritted his teeth and snarled at you, obviously not liking that you stuck up for yourself.
"You stupid woman! What the fuck is wrong with you?" He screams at the top of his lungs, fuming.
"Oh, I get it," He continues, calming down, "you two enjoy flirting with each other, don't you."
"Alex... no... I promise it's not like that-" You begin to explain but he completely cuts you off.
"No one else could ever love you. You're a piece of trash and a waste of space."
This comment leaves you completely heartbroken and you can't react. You just stand silently with tears welling in your eyes as you stare in shock at your boyfriend who is balling his fists in rage.
"If you don't stop hanging out with the bat boy, I'm going to have to make sure you don't." He says with fire in his eyes.
"I'd like to see you try and stop me." You respond, finally having enough of his crap.
You turn to run out the door, but he stops you by grabbing your chocolate brown hair and swinging you into the wall. You completely crumple to the carpeted floor. "You have nowhere else to go." He says with somewhat of a truth behind his words. Your parents both lived in New York and you had no friends due to your time-consuming job.
You reach up to your throbbing forehead and rub it, trying to make the pain go away. Alex is leaning over you, trying to make himself appear bigger than he actually is. He lunges forward and lands a single punch on your nose.
You howl in pain and can feel each of your five senses quickly dissipating. The last thing you hear before you blackout is Alex tearing down your confidence even further by saying, "I'm doing all of this to protect you, why can't you see that?"

You wake up to a throbbing sensation all over your face. Alex had left for work, leaving you alone in your shared apartment. You slowly pull yourself off of the ground and stumble into the bathroom to inspect your wounds.
