The sun is up and noises began to fill the air. Every Monday, the streets look so busy for it is the first day of work. And for students, another day of struggles.

Maxi, the teacher's favorite in Fourth Year Wellness came early to school.

"Good morning!" Maxi greeted as she entered the classroom.

"Hi there!" Chey waved happily.

"Um, excuse me. Am I talking to you?" Maxi said rolling her eyes.

"Well, if I'm not the one you're talking to, then who?"

"My friends, obv!" Maxi rolled her eyes again and walked past Chey.

"Just assuming." Chey said quietly.

Chey is deeply hurt of what Maxi did. She just wants to make friends and fit in. She did everything to make them accept her for who she is and to be a part of Maxi's world.

But of all the student in the Fourth Year Wellness, she has the realest heart.

She's been friends with Yanna since grade school. They know each other so well that she opens up to her about everything.

No secrets. No lies.

Not until she hears the most shocking revelation that could almost break their friendship apart.

After class, Yanna is supposed to stay as she is in the Cleaner's team every Monday. She saw Chey sitting alone at the bottom of the stairs so she approached her.

"Hey girl, what's wrong? It looks like you're down the whole time!"

"No I'm fine. It's just a bad day I guess." Chey answered with tears on her face.

"Oh! Tell me all about it."

"It's just no one wants to be my friend. And I found out that my crush has a girlfriend." Chey cried harder.

Chey once told Yanna about this guy and how he is not the typical heartthrob because of his fame and meanness but Chey never told her his name.

"It's alright. Sometimes people are not meant for us and we are still young. We could meet a lot of people when we go to college. Even better when we graduated and have a job." Yanna hugged Chey.

"You know what, you're right. But I have to know who the girl is. I have to ask him." Chey said determined.

But Yanna feels like she should've stopped her.

The next morning, the principal announce that there is a teachers' meeting so the teachers can only attend the afternoon class.

While the students are waiting, a slight commotion is happening inside the Fourth Year Wellness's room.

"What's your problem?" Nathan said surprised. "And why do you care?"

Someone asked him about his post last Friday night.

"We've known each other for so long! And we're friends, right?"

"Friend? Who told you I treat you as my friend? Asa." Nathan said annoyed.

"Ouch! Why you gotta be so numb?"

"Please, I don't have to explain myself to you." Nathan angrily said.

"But..... I like you. I really do. Since the first time I met you."

Nathan's mouth hung open.

And so as the whole class of Fourth Year Wellness.

Then silence. Very defeaning silence.

"Why don't you tell me who's the girl?" Chey begged as tears forming in her eyes.

"Why do you want to know?" Nathan asked.

"So I could see what she has that I don't have. I could be that someone for you."

"What? Is this a joke? You're that desperate? Funniest thing I've heard." Nathan rolled his eyes.

"Yes. But if I prove that you're really in love with that girl, I'll stop."

"Then why not stop now? I'm not telling anybody anything. We're not close." Nathan said as he heads to the door. "And sorry, I don't feel the same way about you."

The whole room stared with disbelief. Then came the whispers.

Chey forced herself to smile after what she just heard. She stared at him as he's walking away. She wants to call his name but no word came out of her mouth.

She's so hurt that she can't helped to scream "Damn!"

The whole class looked at her. She's mad at him for being so insensitive to everyone.

Realizing that her classmates were shocked by her outburst, she immediately changed her mood and smiled.

"Kidding!" then ran to the toilet.

Yanna was confused why Chey ran past her crying on her way back from the cafeteria. She entered the room without a clue what happened.

Ruby gave her a trip back to what just took place and Yanna's eyes widen. She was horrified of what she heard. More so, of what Chey did.

A few minutes passed, Nathan came back in the room.

"What did you do to Chey? Are you really that stupid?" Yanna angrily asked him.

Nathan shrugged his shoulders and sat at his chair like he didn't care. It was not a shock to Yanna.

She remembered when the same thing happened when Nathan and her got into a fight three years ago.

He always tease her because of her skin color and appearance to the point that some of their classmates laughed at his insensitive jokes too. She was so embarrassed that she can't look anyone in the eyes.

The point when her heart and whole being was scarred, marred and shattered. That no matter how long she try to pick up the pieces, she can't put it back together to the way it used to be.

Whenever she hears people talking behind her back, she puts up a smile but they don't know that deep inside, she's totally crushed.

The fact that the very person who made her feel that way is not sorry is too much to handle.

And all this stuff comes to her head because of a single person.

That one insensitive person.
