The wind blows as her hair dances to the tune of emptiness. Yanna is looking at the window watching the people from above. She's at the school's balcony one windy afternoon.
She saw a woman crossing the street. A man riding a vehicle. Couples holding each other's hands. An old woman with a child. And a girl walking alone barefooted.
She was wondering how much pain they are feeling and when will it end. "Everybody has a story. Every pain has a name." She thought to herself.
"Hey..." Will said in a soft voice. "What's wrong Te Yans?"
"Oh. Hello there! Nothing's wrong. It's just that, I am thinking about my grades and how well I did for the past few months."
"You can do it! You're an achiever." Will said cheerfully. "Don't think about anything too much. It will just stress you. Relax and trust God."
A half smile formed in her lips to show Will that she appreciate all his efforts to make her feel better. But unfortunately, none of those encouraging words can take back her joy.
Then to their surprise, somebody screamed behind them.
"Will! Don't go near her. You'll be unlucky for the rest of the year." Nathan joked as he is about to give Will a high five.
Yanna and Will looked at each other. Will sense that Yanna is uncomfortable whenever Nathan is around and also because of what happened that's why he decided to stay with her so Nathan couldn't get to her nerves.
"Your dumbness is on a different level." Will told Nathan.
"Compared to that my I.Q. is definitely higher." Nathan spat.
"Look who's talking. You're pissing me off again. Maybe just this once, why don't you try to look at yourself at the mirror? But anyway, there is nothing interesting to see so why bother?" Yanna said sarcastically.
She meant every single word she uttered. She knew she could hurt him just by those words but she doesn't care anymore. It's like she's playing with a child.
Nathan turned to Will.
"Look! Who's that? I thought it was a shadow of a ghost." Nathan insulted.
By the looks of it, they are highly irritated and both are ready to put on a fight like raging bulls.
Yanna's fist tighten from the insult and Nathan's head is exploding from what he heard.
"Really? That's your comeback? I thought there's a uniform floating in the air. Can't see you in the dark."
Before Nathan can speak, his friends arrived teasing him.
"Nice one! Whoooo!" Harry and Warren suddenly came out of nowhere and cheered in unison. "Meant to be!"
After hearing those words, Yanna and Nathan both stared sharply at the two of them. Will sighed.
"I didn't say a thing. It's Warren." Harry said innocently.
"I'm chewing my gum." Warren said then winked.
"Stop it. You're like cat and dog fighting over useless things." Will said breaking the ice.
"This gorilla is blaming me. I'm not the one responsible for the incident." Nathan pointing his finger at Yanna.
"What? Me? You should be ashamed of yourself. It was all your fault in the first place. You're attention-seeker!" Yanna shouted. "I've had enough and for your info, I was sick of these games."
She stormed off leaving Will and Nathan speechless.
"It was you dre'. You should treat girls with respect." Will advised.
"It was an accident! She's running too fast and I'm outbalanced. The locker almost hit her in the head. If I hadn't pulled her when she was reaching for my polo, she might be in a hospital right now."
"What about the word 'sorry'?"
That word is not in his vocabulary.

It was 2:00 in the afternoon and the Fourth Year Wellness is dismissed early. But some of the students don't want to go home yet so they stayed at the school gossiping, wandering around and cleaning the room. But Yanna is so eager to go home as well as Chey and some of their classmates.
The only people left are Nathan, Will, Harry and his girlfriend, Warren, Priscilla and Flora.
The two girls are friends with the girls at the other section so they immediately gathered their stuff and transferred to the other room.
Will is also a good guitar player so everytime Nathan brought his guitar, he lets Will to borrow it.
"What do you want me to play?" Will asked Nathan.
"Do you know the song Iris?"
Will's eyes are as big as saucers. "You know the song Iris?"
It is Yanna's favorite song.

At home, Yanna changed her clothes and opened her laptop. She is doing some research for their science experiment next week when she stumbled upon a poem.
It is about a girl, recovering from a severe trauma from an accident.
She became interested so she clicked the link. She continued to read and was surprised to what she found out.

**And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow**
Harry and his girlfriend sit at the back of the room listening to the beautiful music.
**You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now**
Nathan sings and Will plays the guitar very well. Nathan mastered the guitar when his uncle taught him.
It was all he did for the whole weekend when he was young and by the summer, he is planning to buy a new one.
**And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight**
Yanna remembered she left something at school so she went back rushing.
She climbed the stairs to the fourth floor of the building when she heard a very familiar music she's been singing to a thousand times.
**And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am**
