One Saturday afternoon, it was raining all day as the news reported there will be a typhoon coming.

Yanna is playing on her phone when she received a text message. It was from Chey.

It was a group message that reads:
"Minsan na nga lang magmahal, palpak pa."
"I only loved once and still it was wrong."

"You really like him, do you? After what he said to you?" Yanna replied to the text.

Something in her chest stings.

"It's not him. It's another guy. I've moved on."Chey lied.

"Why are you lying? You just told Nathan you like him in front of the whole class!"

She has to get to the bottom of this to save their friendship.

"No! Not anymore. I'm in love with somebody else." Chey continued.

"I want to know the truth. Feelings don't change overnight!" Yanna is mad.

Mad that her friend kept her in the dark for three years. Mad that she is lying to her even though she knows the truth. And mad that something is hurting her and she has no idea why.

"Stop being so manipulative. I'm over him!"

"You keep on saying that but I know you still do. And just like you, I'm also confused of what I really feel about this right now."

"Wait! Are you saying that you are... So my hunch was right! You are really falling for him!"

Chey has a suspicion that Yanna has feelings for Nathan. She knows that they have something since Nathan transferred to their school three years ago.

When the fighting and arguments began, it has been the talk of the class ever since. It is the very reason why she confronted Yanna last time to confirm her suspicions.

"Why don't you just admit it? You are a coward." Chey bombarded Yanna with texts.

It shouldn't be a surprise since Nathan gets out of his way just to tease Yanna. He makes fun of her in ways he never makes fun of anyone else. And even if they won't admit it, there is a chance one of them might fall in love.

Chey can't control her anger, disappointment, shock and disbelief.

"You must be the one Nathan is talking about in his post."

Chey felt betrayed.

The next Monday morning, on their first subject, their teacher announced they're going to have a pop quiz. The whole class groaned in disbelief.

"What is with this teacher and pop quizzes? Can't we just chill?" Maxi exclaimed.

"Oh no. I won't be able to write because I left my fave pen at home!" Karla cried.

"Oh shut up. You sound like a two year old." Paul said annoyed with the two.

"No, you shut up Paul. Stop talking to reduce the pollution in the room thanks to your stinky breath." Maxi said laughing.

"You're the female version of Nathan. So narcissitic that it's painful to the eyes." Paul spat.

Paul's friends, Trey, Leo, Renz and Rhian laughed and cheered.

"Nerds one. Drama queen zero." Rhian said laughing loudly.

On the other side of the room, the students bring out their notebooks and began answering the quiz.

"Wassup Yans!" Lena greeted.

"Hi Prez." Yanna replied with a weak smile. "Did you study last night?"

"Nope. I don't know if I'll be able to answer anything related to Greek Mythology. Every letters turn Greek to me." Lena said laughing.

"Me neither. I was preoccupied with things when I should've been studying." Yanna closed her eyes. "Something happened last night. And I have a bad feeling about it."

"What is it exactly?" Lena asked worried.

"Actually, it's between me and Chey. I don't know if you notice but we have a bit of falling out lately since that goddamn post."

Lena just listened.

"Is our friendship means nothing to her that she can't be honest with me?" Yanna said with tears forming in her eyes.

"Sometimes, people lie to hide what they really feel inside. Because maybe, she doesn't want you or anybody to get hurt." Lena said calmly.

"I know, we do that sometimes but it feels like she doesn't trust me anymore. And I think I might have said something she didn't like..."

Few days had passed and it's now Friday.

For the students, Friday is their favorite day of the week. Even though it was a long week of torture bombarded by quizzes, math problems, assignments and loads of paper works, they are still eager to learn and help each other in time of need.

During English class, Yanna is sitting quietly beside Lena when Nathan out of the blue walks in front, sits at the floor, and leaned on Yanna's knees. He does this all the time and blame it is due to his very bad eyesight.

Everyone is so confused why he didn't choose the seat in front during the seating arrangement instead he likes sitting at the floor and lean on Yanna.

It made Yanna uncomfortable so she told Nathan to stop leaning on her knees.

"Hey, can you not? You're really heavy." Yanna asked him calmly.

But Nathan doesn't move. He continues to lean on her like he didn't hear a thing.

"You know, this is painful and I'm dead serious. So will you please stop doing whatever it is that you're doing?"

But just like the first try, Nathan didn't hear a thing. Yanna is getting impatient so she pushed Nathan a little.

It made Nathan mad.

"You're so sensitive! It's not a big of a deal." Nathan yelled.

The whole class, including the teacher, stopped what their doing and looked at the two.

"Why are you shouting? If you can't see what's written on the board, you should transfer to the front row." Yanna reasoned.

Nathan is so mad at her so he gets up and sits at the floor at the other side of the room.

They haven't talked to each other since that day. Not even during lunch or after class.

That went on for weeks and their classmates noticed even their teachers.
