It's already half of the school year but it feels like the first day is just yesterday.

It is a rainy Tuesday afternoon.

"Hay, bed weather. I could sleep all day." Leo told his friends.

"I'd rather play video games than answer this. The more I stare the more I forgot to read. It's turning Chinese!" Renz joked.

"Well you look like one tho." Paul told Renz.

"You're not so different from me brother with those tiny eyes." Renz argued.

"Atleast I don't have tiny hands!"

And they all laughed.

Meanwhile, Nathan moved to the empty chair next to Yanna while she is busy doing their seatworks. Sometimes, she didn't finish her tasks just because Nathan is messing with her.

"Are you blind or really dumb? Can't you see I'm trying to focus?" Yanna hissed.

But Nathan couldn't care less.

"Please. You're more fun than solving the math problem. Can you tell me some horror stories?"

Yanna looked at him in disgust then continue working on her math problem.

"Please? I don't want anyone else. I want you." Nathan begged with puppy dog eyes.

"I don't know how you passed to be a senior. If you don't want to do your thing well, can you please just keep quiet and let me do my own?" Yanna begged.

But he was too eager to be stopped.

"Please. Even a bit, that'll do. I won't go anywhere and you won't finish that unless you tell me a story."

"What is it that you really like about my stories? Are you like 12?"

"Because you tell your stories as if they were real. And why you? I find you interesting."

Yanna rolled her eyes.

"There's no stopping him" She said to herself.
"Okay. I give up! I can't really concentrate on this if you keep on bugging me."

After hearing that, Nathan beamed in success.
He crossed his legs and gets comfortable in his chair.

This attitude really ticked Yanna off. She wants to strangle her hair in frustration because she cares about her grades, and he doesn't.

Admitting defeat, she started telling a story she read on the internet and Nathan listened very carefully. She saw his eyes light up so she paused and asked him.

"You look funny."

"Will you please continue?" he said. "And don't stop to the climax."

"You are really weird. You are driving me crazy. When you're excited, it seems like your eyes are going to bulge out of their sockets. Calm down dre'."

"Since when did you have the time to study my facial expressions? Do you like me?"

"You? Come on! I have standards."

Yanna resists herself from laughing out loud. But deep inside she asks herself the very same thing.

Before she could finish her story, their teacher stand up and saw what Nathan is doing. She smiled and teased Yanna and Nathan.

"You can continue courting her when you are finished with your seatwork. I don't think ate Yans likes someone with a lot of eggs in his grades." the teacher said laughing.

The whole class stared at them and laughed too. Someone also whistled.

Yanna's face turned red in embarrassment. Nathan must've felt uncomfortable too so he stand up and went back to his seat like nothing happened.

"He's not courting me."

But the whistles grew louder.

Yanna realized that she's in a very awkward position. And Chey is staring at her just like everyone else.

She felt something aching. Like a burning arrow had struck to her chest. Her friend saw her blushing to the man she likes. She tried to play it cool and pretend that it was nothing too.

Just friends. Friends.

And it shreds her like paper.
