Crystal [19]

The whole circle was out looking for their families crystal. We're all rushing around the clock trying to find them all so we could defeat the witch hunters once and for all. We only had Cassie's.

We all decided to meet up at the abandoned house to talk about our findings so far.

I wore a dark grey 'Bandit Brand' t-shirt dress with a black corset around the middle. Pairing it with thigh high boots, I straightened my hair and left my makeup natural.

Walking into the witch house, I notice the whole circle had only just arrived. I walk in right as Melissa asks a question.

"How does it work?"

Cassie holds up her crystal. "My grandmother says the crystal is a lens that magnifies individual power." She explains.

"So I could destroy this ugly vase all by myself?" Faye questions making me roll eyes. Cassie shrugs. "Let me try."

Faye takes Cassie's crystal and held it out in front of herself, towards the vase. I feel the magic flow through me, a lot more magic that it would have taken to destroy one vase. Things made of glass all around the room starts shattering making us all yell at her.

"Faye! Drop the crystal." Cassie yells at her. When she doesn't listen, Blackwell appears next to her and grabs the crystal.

"Faye!" He scolds. "Don't do that again. This is not a toy. It's power can be drained so only use it if you have to. Now we need to get the rest of the crystals from the elders before the witch hunters attack." He explains.

"Wouldn't the elders want to stop the witch hunters, too? Can't we just ask them for help?" Adam asks.

"The elders will never trust you. After the boat yard fire they stripped your parents of their magic and when they find out you have it they'll do the same thing to you, too." We all look at each other in thought.

"I'm gonna drive out to my granddads. If my family has a crystal, it's with him." Jake says. I look at him with a small smile.

"I'll go to." I say. "We can stop at my grandmothers on the way." Jake nods at me.

"My grandparents are on the other side of the county right now." Adam says.

"My grandmother disappeared after she tried to kill Cassie." Diana explains.

"I'm sure I can find a way into my grandmothers place and look around pretty easily." Melissa says.

"Don't underestimate the elders. Go in groups so you can use your circle magic." Blackwell says making me shake my head. Our grandparents aren't going to hurt us.

"Why don't you and I help Melissa?" Adam asks Cassie.

She stumbles over her words. "I told Jake and Aria I'd go with them." I look at her in confusion then make eye contact with Jake. He mimics my expression but doesn't say anything.

"I can help Melissa." Diana says.

Faye nods her head. "I was already gonna do that."

We all walk to the exit, Jake waiting until I'm next to him. When I am, he grips my hand in his making me let out a smile.

Jake and I had went to go get coffee before we were off to our grandparents' houses. When we parked, he didn't get out of the truck.

"Jake?" I question.

When he doesn't respond, I turn my head to face him only for him to crash his lips to mine. I let out a surprised squeal but quickly move my hand to his cheek while letting out a small moan. My hand slips to the back of his head where I grip at his light brown locks. He groans slightly making me smile into the kiss.
