Another funeral. I finally thought we were done losing people and then Cassie's grandmother dies. I liked Jane. She helped us. She didn't deserve death.

I walked into Cassie's wearing an off-the-shoulder, quarter sleeve black dress that had tule around the skirt. I paired it with black pumps, straightened my hair and left my makeup natural.

I was probably only there for five minutes when Jake came crashing through the front door in a panic with red eyes. He stopped in front of me.

"Is it true? Witch hunters did it?" He asked, not missing a beat.

I hesitated. "That's what Blackwell said."

He raised his voice. "We can't just sit here and let them get away with this." I notice everyone turn to us so a grab his hand and move him closer to me.

"We won't." I squeeze his hand that's still held in mine. "There are sad, fragile, old people here. Let's not have to host another funeral because one of them has a heart attack with your angry threats." I say quietly. "You need a distraction. Something to take the edge off."

I took Jake back to my house in search of some sort of drug to help distract us. My father was out as he was probably getting drunk already. It was barely noon and he was already drinking.

I go straight to the bathroom and rummage through the drawers and cabinets before finding exactly what I was looking for. An old bottle of pain meds that I got when I broke my arm in the fourth grade.

Grinning, I walk back out to Jake to see him exactly where I left him, standing in the middle of the living room looking at old pictures.

"Cute." He smirks before turning to me to see what I held. "Fuck." He groans but hesitates when he goes to speak again. "I lo-You're the best."

I smirk in return. "Now are we going to go fuck or do you want to stare at five year old me till you nut your pants?"

Jake and I went to the abandoned house after we finished up at mine. What? We were already going there, why not finish? I changed into a black jumper dress with black heeled boots before we left. We marched up the stairs of the house, Jake behind me. I could feel him staring at my ass but ignored it once we got to the loft.

I see Faye holding up her family crystal once we reach the top of the stairs. "Six down. One to go." Faye smirks. Jake joins the rest of the circle and sits down.

"Not exactly." Adam says. I look at him in confusion.

"It's dead. I tested it out." Faye concludes.

Cassie grabs the crystal from Faye before Blackwell takes it from her. "Where did you find this?"

"In my mom's purse." Faye takes the crystal back, and sits on a chair. I could feel the energy that had faded from it.

"Okay, so now we just need to find Adam's family's crystal." Cassie said.

"Yeah, but it didn't appear on the map." He responds.

"It must be cloaked." Blackwell states. "Adam's grandfather could have spelled and hidden it before he died."

"What if we can't find it?" Cassie questions.

"We have to." Her father demands. "Maybe your grandfather left a clue that might help us figure out the cloaking spell or at least gives us an idea where he hid it?"

"I can look." Adam responds.

"Yeah, but even if we find it, Faye's crystal doesn't have any power." Melissa says.
