fixing my purple gown, i faced the mirror in front of me.

i tried to smile, but i couldn't.

i turned my back and exited the room, facing secretary kang with her own dress, smiling ear to ear at me.

"you look stunning, miss han." she praised.

"thank you." i said simply before grabbing my purse and heading outside the door.

before i could even open the front door, secretary kang stopped me by holding my forearm. i turned around and gave her a confused look.

"all business people are there, danger might come anytime." she warned.

i nodded, "did you hire the guards?"

"yes, but we still don't know who might attack us-"

i grabbed my purse, pulling out my small gun, twirling it on my hands.

"good." she nodded.

we both went to my limousine waiting outside my house, trying hard not to trip by my heels.

"inform everyone that we're coming." i ordered and secretary kang immediately pulled out her phone, calling the people at the venue.

we arrived at the venue and all people turned their heads at me while i was entering the hall, some bowed, some waved, and some just looked.

but me?

i smiled.

a little bit.

i guess.

secretary kang stood up on the stage, gaining everyone's attention.

i sat on one of the front unoccupied table, placing my purse on my lap.

"thank you our distinguished guests for coming to our celebration for the successful launch of our company, we would like to congratulate all our staffs and people under the han company."

the crowd clapped their hands.

secretary kang continued speaking in front while i just sit here, looking around, sometimes meeting other people's eyes.

a waiter passed by and offered me wine, i shook my head.

not that i don't want to drink wine, it's just that i don't like that kind of wine.

i stood up from my seat, heading at the side part of the venue where all kitchen staffs works. i passed by them and went over the bar part where all kinds of wines are placed.

i sat on one of the stool and called the bartender. when he saw me, he quickly bowed.

"my favourite." i said simply and he quickly nodded.

not less than a minute, my drink arrived. i took a sip on it and spun my chair, facing the crowd sideward.

i scanned the people and sighed.

so many people came yet almost all of them are strangers.

i turned my back again and finished my drink. i was about to go down the stool when a hand snaked around my waist.

i looked behind to see bogum, smiling widely at me.

i smiled back and got off of the stool, meeting his eyes as his hands are still on my waist.
