Chapter 4

Naomi P.O.V

While me and Carter were watching something there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it." I said and went to the door when I opened it to see Christopher and Toby.

"Trent isn't home." I said and as I was about to close the door Carter yelled for me to come back. "Naomi can we come in?" Toby asked and again I'm surprised how do they remember me?

"Um sure." I said and we walked to the living room. "Carter, why are you here if Trent isn't here?" Toby asked and Cater rolled his eyes. "I can't simply just hang out with Naomi?" He asked and pointed to me.

"Now leave we were in the middle of watching something." Cater said but they didn't leave instead they sat down. "Well then we'll join you guys, if that's okay with you Naomi?" Christopher asked me and I nodded yes and sat down back in my spot. "So where did Trent go?" Toby asked and I just sighed.

"He and the rest of the family left early to go visit family." I told them I would've gone with them but my mom called the school to tell them that only three of us were going and of course, I wasn't one but I won't tell them that.

"So why didn't you go with them?" Toby asked and I had to hurry and think of a lie and I'm not good at lying it's a strong weakness of mine. "They wanted one of us to stay behind to watch the house and um I decided to stay as you can see." I said and looked at the TV the whole time hoping they couldn't tell I was lying.

"Oh well that was nice of you." Christopher said and I just nodded and continued watching TV while I was watching I felt that feeling again of someone was me again. "So how long will they be gone?" Carter asked and I honestly don't know. 

"A few weeks." I said and we kept watching the show I have no idea what it is but it's funny. After a while, it started getting dark so the guys left and I turned off the TV and went up to my room and got ready for bed. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had friends and it felt great.

Next day

When I was done getting ready for school I remembered I have no one to drive me since Amber isn't here and I don't have my license so I guess I'll be walking.

As I was walking a car pulled up next to me so I started walking faster. "Do you need a ride?" I heard someone ask and the voice sounded familiar I turned around and saw Christopher next to me I was wondering why he was over here when I remembered he's my neighbor.

"Oh um yeah I do." I said and walked over to his car and got in. "Thanks Christopher." I said and looked down while he started to drive. "I figured you would need a ride I noticed that your sister drives you to school." He said.

The drive was nice but when we got to school I got out a little too quickly. "Whoa someone can't wait to get away from me." Christopher joked and I smiled at him. "I'm sorry Christopher I didn't mean to make it seem that way." I said and he walked over to my side of the car.

"It's alright Naomi." He said and while we were standing there I felt someone watching me again and I looked around to see Toby looking at us.

"I'll see you later." I said and walked inside still feeling someone watching me once I got inside I hurried to my locker and then went straight to class I was happy to get that feeling away.

After a few seconds I felt it again so looked around and saw Christopher walking in looking at me how is it that I keep forgetting that we have first period together. "Hey Naomi." He said and I said hi back.

When the teacher got here he started explaining how tomorrow we were going to have to merge our class with some other class and work together on a history project.

Even though no one knew which class was coming everyone started looking for their partners a few girls asked Christopher but no one asked me. "Naomi wanna be my partner?" Christopher asked and I was shocked, why would he ask me?

"Um, sure Christopher." I said there were still a few girls around him and they were looking at me and it was really uncomfortable after that news we continued to learn history till the bell rang.

"Oh Naomi you're sitting with Toby, Carter and I we already decided and you can't get out of it." He said before walking away.

I was not sitting with them during lunch I was going outside for lunch like always. Throughout the day I felt them looking at me I was happy when Lunch came I practically ran outside to make sure they wouldn't see or catch me.

When I got outside I took out my lunch and was about to eat till someone interrupted me. "You are eating with us get up." I heard him say it was Carter he was looking down at me and it looked like he was mad but he always looked mad or upset.

"I don't want to go." I said and for a while neither of us said anything. I was eating my apple expecting him to leave but nope instead he took my apple and put it in his mouth, put all my stuff back into my book bag, and picked me up still holding my book bag.

He walked into the cafeteria still carrying me on his shoulder and walked over to his table still carrying me why hasn't he put me down yet? "Where was she?" Toby asked once we got to the table and Carter finally put me down.

"She always eats lunch outside." He said and I just have one question and that's how does he know I eat lunch outside every day. "I've seen you outside when I'm out there." Carter asked as if he knew exactly what I was thinking.

For the rest of lunch, I was forced to sit with them and they said I'll have to tomorrow too even though it was fun when Trent gets back I doubt he'll let me still sit there but for now I was going to try and enjoy it.
