No longer Invisible

Chapter 5

Naomi P.O.V

After school Toby offered me a ride and I would've felt bad if I declined him so I said yes. "I'm glad you ate lunch with us today." He said and smiled down at me.

"Well I didn't exactly have a choice." I said and he nodded. "That's true but still it was nice to have you there and to see you smile." He said and it made me smile.

"Such a beautiful smile." Toby said. The whole drive we talked about random stuff till we got to my house. "Well here we are." He said and I didn't want our conversation to stop and I didn't want to be alone either.

"Hey Toby would you like to come inside and hang out for a while?" I asked and he looked unsure if he wanted to say yes or no. "I mean if you want to and if you aren't busy." I said and looked down hoping he would say yes and not no. "Yeah why not Naomi." He said and I instantly felt happy we got out of the car and went inside.

"Do you want anything like food or a drink?" I asked and he nodded so I got him water.

"Sorry if I might not seem as fun as my brother or sisters." I said as I walked back into the living room with two bottles of water. "I think your fun Naomi your siblings are cool but and I don't mean to offend you but they are annoying and can be really rude which isn't alright." Toby said before taking the water and taking a sip from it.

"Trust me I know they suck sometimes." I said taking a sip of water and turned on the TV, the first thing that came up was a movie marathon of old classics and the first thing that came on was sixteen candles which is one of my favorites.

"My sister loves this movie she probably watches it every night." Toby said and who can blame her it's an amazing movie I've watched it probably nine times in the last month.

"It's a great movie I've watched it so many times." I said and he laughed and I was confused was he laughing at me.

"The way you said it you sounded like watching this movie is the best thing in the world, it was cute." He said and I smiled and we ended up watching it and talking sometimes.

After five movies we ended up falling asleep together and it was nice being this close to him it was nice just being close to someone. I didn't want to wake up but then I started to hear a sound but I decided to ignore it and keep sleeping.

I heard the same sound again and I still ignored it but then I heard it again and I was getting annoyed so I got up and noticed the sound was a phone so I woke up Toby because I knew it wasn't mine.

He answered his phone and talked to whoever called for a long time before hanging up while he was doing that I was cooking as I was finishing up Toby came in.

"That was Christopher he said he and Carter are coming over." He said and I nodded because I really don't mind it. "Can you help me?" I asked and he nodded he washed his hands and started to help me chop up the vegetables.

There was a knock on the door so I stopped chopping and went to open it and saw Christopher and Carter when I opened it Christopher was still knocking on the door.

"Christopher, why are you still knocking?" I asked and he just pointed at Carter who looks mad. "It annoys him and I find that funny." Christopher said, Carter punched him in the stomach and walked inside still looking annoyed. I looked at Christopher who was holding his stomach and trying to walk he looked like he was struggling so I helped him walk over to the couch.

"Are you alright Christopher?" I asked and he nodded yes. I told him if he needed anything I'd be in the kitchen and walked back to the kitchen. Once there I saw Carter was helping too. I washed my hands again and started getting out the pasta we needed.

"Thanks for helping Carter." I said and he just looked at me before looking back at the vegetables he was cutting.

"I think that's all the vegetables we need." I said and I put them in a skillet while seasoning the vegetables then put the pasta in a pot and just waited thankfully Carter and Toby stayed in the kitchen with me and we all talked well it was mostly me and Toby while Carter would talk once in a while.

I went to check up on the food and it was all done so I got out the sauce and dumped it in mixing the past around after we waited for it to cool down before I did anything else. 

Once it all had cooled down I got out four plates and made everyone a plate and brought them to the dining room and we all sat together.

"I hope you like it." I said looking down at the food hoping it wasn't terrible I saw them use their forks and take a bite of the food at this point I was praying the food tasted decent. I don't really cook often I mainly just snack. "This is great Naomi." Christopher said and Toby and Carter agreed and I smiled.

"Do you mean it?" I asked and they all nodded and my smile widened. "Why lie about it tasting good when you're about to eat the same thing as us it would be pointless." Cater said before taking another bite and it made me smile more before I took a bite for the rest of the night we talked and hung out it was great till they had to leave.

"Are you sure you guys have to go?" I asked I was really sad about it I didn't want them to leave. "We'll see you tomorrow Naomi." Christopher said and gave me a hug before they all left.

I did the same thing I  always do I took my shower, got dressed, brushed my teeth, wrapped up my hair, and went to sleep thinking about today and how amazing it was I hope that this can continue even after my family comes back.
