Chapter 41: Jacob

The Moon was shining as Pixie and I went back to the guild. We walked down the stairs to the main cavern and everyone stopped and stared, then they cheered. We couldn't help but laugh.

We were both too tired for Dinner, we were walking to our room when Tertle called me.

"Jacob! We've got a report you should hear." He turned and walked into the meeting room.

Pixie frowned at me. "Duty calls, you go to bed, I'll be in soon."

She frowned and thought for a second, then she smiled and kept walking. I moved into my office, Tertle, Glair, Marv and Sheldon were already there.

"Tertle, Glair, how'd you go?"

Glair answered. "We found the Tear, and Pixie and a human girl, the girl has got the first two tears, the third is in Alcarmia castle but is guarded by a mega strong Mega Lucario! We're meeting up with the girl tomorrow, her name is Adrie. She's got this cool book called 'Alcarmia; The First King', she read it and found out about the tears and wants to use them to stop the Shadow Crystal!"

I nodded pretending I understood what Glair had just said. "Anything else?" I asked Tertle, hoping he would explain. He shook his head.

"No, Glair pretty much said it all."

Huh. Glair giggled.

"Right then, so tomorrow we'll meet with Adrie and once we get past the language barrier we'll solve the 'Lucario' problem."

I looked at all the faces in room, everyone nodded. Our journey was nearing the end and we were all more determined than ever. I smiled at them.

"Okay then, everyone get some rest. Tomorrow, when the sun rises, so will we, and we will stand again."

I left the office and turned towards my room, time for bed. I entered the room bone tired.

...

"Pixie, what are you doing?"

She smiled slyly.

"It's the first time I've slept in a proper bed in ages, I'm going to enjoy it."

"So, you took our two beds and made one big one?"

"Yep." She frowned. "But now it's so big that I feel lonely..." She made a pouty face, complete with puppy eyes. (Technically, they're 'Foxy eyes' but... yeah let's not go there.)

I rolled my eyes but couldn't stop a small smile. I walked onto the bed, lay down next to her and placed my head on her neck. She craned her head to look at me, and she licked my nose.

I recoiled and fell off the bed, she giggled. Damn she's cute. I got back on the bed and lay down again the same as before. Using a claw, I scratched behind her ear, she purred, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

I sighed happily and lay my head on her again.

"Jacob?"

"Hm?"

"When all this is over, let's go back to Sharpedo Bluff, let's go home."

Home... My home, I don't belong here and yet it feels more like home than my world ever could, but I couldn't leave my Mum... I couldn't leave Pixie either...

She squirmed beneath me but soon stopped moving and sighed happily.

"Goodnight Jacob."

I smiled and whispered in her ear.

"Sweet dreams Pix."
