"SPIDER, SPIDER, SPIDER, SPIDER, SPIDERRRRR!!" Roman screamed in a high-pitched voice, Logan looking at Patton before running into the kitchen where the Roman had screamed from.
Patton followed but also screeched seeing the big spider, grabbing Roman and running off into Roman's room with him away from the spider. The two boys freaked out.
Roman kept screaming despite being brought away from the spider, Logan rolling his eyes before he opened the window, the spider on the windowsill then crawling out easily, Logan then closing the window again.
Logan sighed and walked to Roman's room, hearing Roman still screaming from it before Logan knocked. "Roman? It's gone now, you and Patton can-" Logan was cut off as Roman opened the door and smacked Logan in the face with a frying pan, Logan's eyes widening before he yelled, holding his head in pain. "OW! ROMAN! " He yelled, looking at his brother angrily as Roman quickly dropped the pan and ran up to Patton, jumping into his arms.Patton flinched at Logan's yelling, his face seeming to become fright for a moment before it was replaced with concern. "Are you okay?" He whispered, putting Roman down and walking over, gently taking Logan's hand, flinching again as Logan yelled again, fear returning on Patton's face quickly.
"NO! I'M NOT OKAY, PATTON!" Logan yelled, Roman hiding behind his bed a little, Logan swiping his hand away from Patton's. "I'M NOT OKAY BECAUSE MY DEVIL OF A BROTHER WON'T STOP BOTHERING ME AND SCREAMING AND HITTING ME WHEN I HAVE WORK TO DO!" He shouted, his other hand still on his head which had been bruised from the frying pan by the looks of it.
Patton backed away frantically, covering his ears and cowering a bit as he tried not to think of his parents fighting, taking deep breaths as he tried to calm back down, not wanting to have a freak out in front of Logan and his little brother who already seemed scared himself.
Logan didn't even notice Patton's attempt to try and not freak out, closing the door to Roman's room and making his way back to his own room, sick of his brother always getting in the way.
Roman's face fell and he walked over to Patton, putting a hand to his shirt and looking at him. "Patt?" He asked, tugging at Patton's shirt a little.
Logan slamming the door was the last straw for Patton who broke into soft cries, slinking to the floor and breaking down, having flashbacks to his parents arguing and his dad being gone for a few nights, only to come back drunk. They hunted him as he kept crying then only realizing he wasn't at home when he felt Roman hug him tightly.
Roman hugged the crying 19-year-old, his arms just big enough to wrap almost all the way around Patton and touch each other at the back. He rested his hand on Patton's chest, not liking to see such a happy bubbly person cry so suddenly.
Patton then cried harder and hugged Roman tightly, not caring about how loud he cries got as some tears landed on Roman. The small 19 then hearing footsteps.
Roman kept hugging Patton, drawing circles on his back lightly with a finger before he heard the door open. He looked up and towards the door, seeing the door creak open and Virgil's cute little face peek in. His eyes widened and lit up. "Virgil!" He said, then letting go of Patton and running over to Virgil, giving the small five-year-old a tight hug.
Patton looked over at the two, then crying harder and curling up, wanting to hide as Virgil hugged him back and asked. "Why he crying?" Virgil tilting his head and pointing to Patton.
Roman pulled away from Virgil and looked at Patton, his face falling a little before he walked back over to Patton, crawling onto his lap and hugging Patton again. "Logan was yelling at him." He said quietly, frowning a little.
Virgil frowned and mumbled. "Meanie." He then went over to Patton and hugged him tightly from the back, Patton then breaking into louder sobs and hugging the two boys close, the 19 then muttering.
"Tha-Thank you...."
Roman smiled a little and hugged Patton tighter. "You're welcome." He said with a small smile, looking at Virgil and smiling more warmly.
Patton finally calmed down and wiped his eyes, pulling away. "Why don't we play a game?" He suggested quietly, Virgil looking down for a moment before picking up a doll of Roman's.
"Tea!" He said, smiling shyly as he looked at Roman and Patton, being a bit different than most boys.
Roman's eyes lit up and he nodded, then standing up and taking Patton's hand. He led him downstairs before letting go of his hand and crawling into the fort. He took all the swords and shields away from his toys, then arranging them and putting a small box in the middle of all of them for a table. "Virgil!" He said, then taking his hand and leading him into the fort, crawling over and switching on a string of fairy lights that he had put up, knowing that Virgil liked them.
Virgil followed and gasped then yelling. "Tea!" He giggled and smiled, then seeing m&ms. The small boy then grabbed the m&ms and scarfed them down quickly, Patton smiling and sighing as he climbed onto the couch, still feeling tears in his eyes from earlier, then seeing Logan come out of his room finally.
Logan came out of his room, pinching the bridge of his nose and looking down, muttering to himself. He came into the living room, realizing that Roman wasn't screaming and seeing that he was in the fort with Virgil, the two happily playing together and scarfing M&Ms. Logan looked from the two boys to Patton on the couch, his face falling a little as he saw how silently upset Patton looked. "P-Patton? I...I'm sorry for yelling..." He said, walking forward and sitting down near him on the couch.
Patton stayed silent before laying his head on Logan's lap and closing his eyes, the small 19-year-old able to fit in Logan's lap while curled up, the sound of 'ooooh~!'s coming from the fort a moment later, Virgil and Roman looking up at Logan.
Logan blushed a little as he looked at the two five-year-olds, frowning a little as Roman took two stuffed animals and mimicked them kissing each other with a giggle. Logan rolled his eyes and looked back down at Patton, pulling him into his lap a little more and wrapping his arms around him so he didn't fall off the couch.
Patton snuggled up more, burring his face into Logan as he felt his eyes droop, growing tired as Virgil giggled and smile, sitting down on the ground, watching the two boys with a smile.
Roman smiled and giggled quietly, sitting down beside Virgil and watching as Logan also started to slowly fall asleep, resting his head on top of Patton's head as his eyes slipped shut. Roman smiled and awwed quietly, then looking at Virgil and quickly giving him a peck on the cheek.
Virgil blushed and giggled before pointing to the two and whispering. "Love." He then stood up and went back into the fort to finish the rest of the M&Ms.
