Chapter 6 : Daddy's Money

"Valentina and her goonies roofied me , without them even knowing " Cat says , a single tear silently falling down her face . "They weren't there for her like we are now . They never talked to her anymore , Im pretty sure that 'guy ' told them what he did "Anna says , holding her hand and smiling at her . "But now I have you guys , and I couldn't be more grateful " Cat says . "Daniel are you ok ?" she asks me .

I can barely hold in my anger . Those people were dicks to her . Sure I haven't known her long but no one should have had to go through what she did ."Who" I simply said . "Who what ?" she ask me . "Who was it ?" I ask in return . "Ryan , it was Ryan . He already graduated , I haven't seen him in over two years , last I heard he was in New York " she said . "

"Hey guys , what did we miss ?" Tony ask as he and Evelyn sit down with us . I take a good long look at Evelyn . If anything had happened to her like what happened to Cat I would've killed the guy . "Why are you staring at me like that you crack head " she said while I was looking at her. "Shut up you crack baby " I laughed at her . She absolutely hated it when I called her that . "Okay fuck boy " she said in return . "Wow , I have never seen siblings that talk to each other like you guys do " Tony laughed .  

"That's what happens when we basically raised ourselves " I said . The three of them gave a confused look . "Our dad is in the military and is a Sargent.  When we lived with him,  we lived in a apartment and hardly saw him " Evelyn explains. "Is that why you guys moved out here ? " Tony asks her . She looks down and I know she is thinking about him. I put my hand on her shoulder and lightly pat her in a sentimental way ."Its a touchy subject for her "I say to him .

"Oh I'm so sorry for your loss " he says . Evelyn's eyes shoot up to give him a death stare . "He's not dead jackass , he's in Afghanistan " she exclaims.  "Shit I'm sorry.  I just assumed "Tony says . "Sorry he has a problem assuming things " Anna says .  "I do not " he counters .  Cat rolls her eyes and chokes on her laughter . " What's that supposed to mean ?" he says . 

"You always assume the worse , remember the fair ?" she says . "What happened at the fair ?"I ask . "Last year at the fair he thought the clown at the circus was a child predator because he kept ' staring at me seductively '"Anna says imitating him while laughing . "He was !" Tony exclaims , making the rest of us laugh.

"Oh look the freaks made new friends "a deep voice says from behind me . I look to see Derek Harper and his 'crew' . "At least we have real friends , not the fake ones like you do Harper "Tony says . Derek gives him a death stare . "Oh shut it Estrada , get your panties out of a bunch " Derek shoots at him . He suddenly spots Evelyn with a look that I don't like  and sits right in between her and Tony . "Hey sweet heart if you ever want to hang out with a real man here's my number "he says writing his phone number on a napkin and giving it to her  . "Oh thanks " she says sarcastically, then proceeds to use the napkin to wipe her mouth on it then threw it in a near by trash can .  

Which makes it in .

Derek's friends begin to laugh at his rejection as do Cat , Annalise , Tony and myself . Evelyn sits there smiling at Derek's embarrassment . He chuckles lightly with a hint of  embarrassment then proceeds to say ,"Your gonna regret that , bitch " . He abruptly stands up knocking over her tray of food onto the ground . Water splashes all over her shirt , making her white shirt see through . "Nice bra " one of Derek's goonies say . Tony is quick to cover her with her leather jacket that was on the bench . She covers herself quickly then gets up and says " Hey ass hat , don't get butt hurt just cause you got rejected , daddy's money cant get you everything " . He pauses for a brief moment then continues walking back towards the cafeteria , his crew following him . 

Cat , Anna , Tony look at Evelyn like she was a mad woman  . "Whoa " Cat said . "What ? why are you all staring at me like that ?" Evelyn asks ." No one has ever stood up to him like that . " Tony  answers . "Yeah let alone rejected him like that " Anna adds . "Well its about time someone did " Evelyn says sitting back down .She then turns her head and looks at me . "Why didn't you say anything ?" she asks me . "I thought you were handling it pretty well " I say ,taking a bite into my pizza . "Awe man my lunch is all over the floor " she complains . "Ill share with you here "Tony says as he cuts his pizza down the middle and gives her half.

 I raise my brow at him for the second time today . Just as I'm about to say something  again , I feel two legs kick my right shin . "awe shit " I groan under my breath as I begin to rub my shin . I look up to find Cat and Anna avoiding eye contact with me pretending to look at anything and everything else . Then after about two seconds they make eye contact with me and  smirk at me .

The final bell had finally rung , signaling the end of class. Thank God I hate Spanish , its too easy for me . Just as I was packing up ,Cat asked me what I was dong after school today . "Well I still have to finish unpacking my stuff and do homework , why ?" I asked . "No reason " she lied . I had a talent for finding out if people where lying . "Why you lying to me ?" I ask as we leave the class ."Hmm , surprised you found out I was lying " she commented as we walked out the building . " Its my gift "I said . "Evelyn must hate you for that " she replied.  " Sometimes , anyway why did you want to know what I was doing after school " I asked . "Oh , I wanted to know if you and Ev possibly want to hang out with the crew " she said walking toward the student lot . 

I thought about it . Having people over at my house . With mom and Emmet . Maybe one day if Emmet just worked afternoon to late night . I'd have to ask mom . "Who's Emmet ?" Cat asked , pulling me out of my train of thought . "Oh did I say that out loud? Sorry , Emmet is my moms ass hat of a boyfriend " I say . "Oh .. Oh hey look there's Evelyn and Tony " she says pointing them out . They were standing next to a red classic '98 mustang , that was gorgeous . "Who's car is that ?" I asked . "Its Tony's " she answers. 

As we walk toward them Anna joins us too . "So that's how I got this sweet thing " Tony says to a smiling Evelyn. Smiling ?  "Hey guys " Anna says . "Hey , yall ready ?" Tony ask Anna and Cat . They both nod getting in his car .I check my phone to see if my mom texted me while I was in class . Sure enough there was a text from her . 

Mom; Sorry I cant get you and Ev . Can you take an uber home ? Love you 

"Great " I said . "What happened ?",Eve asked looking over my shoulder to look at my phone . "Mom cant get us ?" She asked . "Guess not come on ill call an uber " I said . " Hey if you guys need a ride I'd be more than happy to take yall home " Tony says . "I'm in . Danny you coming ?"Evelyn asks . "I guess so " I say climbing in the back with Cat and Evelyn . Tony starts the car then ask " where do you guys live ?" . "9262 Nightingale street " I say . "Hey that's like four houses down from me " Tony says . 

Tony dropped us off . We avoided Emmet at all cost . I invited Evelyn to come to my room so that we could do Stats work together while we ate lunch , that was actually just sand witches . As we were doing our home work , I couldn't help but ask her what she thought of Tony . "So..." I started . "Im not giving you answers to the worksheet if your trying to ask me " she says still focusing on doing her work . "No , actually I was gonna ask you about Tony " I said .

 "Ughh I knew it " she groaned . "What are you talking about ?" I asked her . "I knew your were gonna bring him up " she replied slightly annoyed . "Am I getting that predictable now ?" I asked . "Yes , yes you are . Now what do you want to know ?" she asked . "Do you like him cause I can tell he likes you " I say . "I mean he is cute . but I dont know I guess I'd have to get to know him better , if I even considered dating him " she said . 

"That's my sister " I said throwing a pillow at her face . "ugh you ass " she said after getting hit . She then grabbed a pillow too and hit me back . We ended up falling asleep in my room listening to music while finishing our home work .
