Chapter 16 : I'm not your Mom

Daniel's POV 

" Come on Mason " I said to my little boxer breed dog that was laying on my floor. It was the day before my birthday , and here I was laying down on my bed after school doing my agriculture homework. But I got bored so I decided to go on a walk . 

Mason raised his head at the mention of his name . "You wanna go for a walk with Baby and Evelyn ?" I asked him . He barked at me as if he was saying yes . "I'm taking that as a yes , come on lets go get them " I said getting up to go across the hall to Evelyn's room . 

I knocked on her door. "Come in " I heard her say from the other side . I opened the door and say her taking picture of Baby on her bed with her camera . "Come on Baby at least look comfortable " Evelyn complained fixing the blanket around Baby . Mason barked and got her attention. 

"What's up Danny ?" she asked . "Uh first of all ,what are you doing ?" I asked her . "Its for my photography class . I needed a model but Anna and Cat bailed on me so I'm using Baby " she said . "Okay well take a break we are gonna go see Xavier and bring Baby " I say, grabbing Baby's leash from behind her door and tossing it at her .  

"Fine , maybe Xavier will help me instead "she says making Baby bark at her . She laughs and clips the collar on Baby . We head downstairs and grab two water bottles from the kitchen . "Mom we are going for a walk " I yell as we head out the door . "Mom is at the shop with Emmet " Evelyn telle me after I close the door . "I thought she was home " I say in confusion . She shakes her head no .

As we walk around the corner I see Xavier in the drive way kicking a soccer ball at the garage door , clearly frustrated . I hear the click of a camera behind me . I turn and notice Evelyn taking pictures of him . I guess he heard it too and turned to look at us . "Oh hey gu- PUPPIES " he exclaims getting distracted by the dogs .

 He immediately runs towards us and bends down to pets them . "Hello to you too " I say . "Oh hey what are you guys doing here ?" he asks "We were gonna walk to the park and wanted to see if you wanted to come with us " I tell him . "You clearly need to let of some steam " Evelyn says motioning towards the dent in the garage door. "Oh that , my grandma doesnt mind , mom did the same things when she was my age " he says continuing to pet the dogs . 

"Where did you get these guys they are so fucking adorable " he says. "Mom's boyfriend found them " I tell him . He looks at Baby's name tag . "You did not name this boy Baby " he says in disbelif to Evelyn. "Yes I did , now do you want to come or not ?" she asks him . "Yeah I'll come let me get my house keys " he says running into the house . He comes out and locks the door behind him and picks up the soccer ball from the ground . 

Evelyn's POV

"You really think Mr. Adrian will accept these picture ?" Xavier asks . I was taking pictures of him and Daniel playing soccer with the dogs running around them . "He will literally accept anything I turn in , he loves my photos" I brag . It was true Mr.Adrian thought I was really talented and was trying to help me get my portfolio together for photography school. 

"How's the yearbook coming along by the way Eve?" Daniel asked taking a drink from his water bottle . "Ugh you would know if you helped at all , I'm basically doing all the work myself " I complained to him . " I would help if you actually gave me a camera to use " he retorted .

"You guys are doing the year book together ?" Xavier asked . "No I'm doing the yearbook by myself right now " I said emphasizing on that last part . Danny groaned. "Maybe I can help "Veir offered . "Are you good at editing ?" I asked him . "Didn't you see my computer editing presentation last year ? About Emily ?" he asks.
