3. Old Friends...

"Hey Cort." I say as I answer my phone

"Hey Y/n, anything new since you left work?" She jokes

"Yeah I actually just scheduled a flight out to New York in two days."

"Well you don't have to be sarcastic."

"I'm not."

"You're seriously going to New York?!"

"Yea."

"Why?"

"Some old friends invited me to spend Christmas with them."

"It's not your high high-school love, is-"

"No, not him, I don't even think he'll be there." 

"Well what-"

"Don't even think about it" 

She sighs "Fine."

"Thank you."

"So you leave in two days?"

"Yep, would you mind watching Chica while I'm gone?"

"Yea sure, I'll watch her as long as you need me too."

"Thanks, hey I need to go pack. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok bye."

I hang up and start trying to decide what all I wanted to pack.

After I hung up with her I rang up my boyfriend- fiance, Garrett, I got his answer machine, so I left him a voice-mail telling him that I was going to spend Christmas in New York and that he didn't need to worry about me.

~Two days later~

Straightening my shirt I was wearing, I pushed the sleeves to my leather jacket, which was unfortunately an items of Shawns that I kept, I press the button to their apartment.

"Matthews resident." Topanga says

"It's me" I smile slightly at the sound of her voice.

"Oh come on up."

I walk in and up to their apartment, then knock on their door, waiting.

"I'll get it" I hear Cory say, I smile.

He opens the door

"Miss me?"

"AHH" He slams the door then opens it again "Y/n!!!"

"Hey Cory." I say hugging him

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"Topanga invited me...it was last minute."

"Why didn't you tell me she was coming?" He asks, turning to Topanga.

"Like she said, it was last minute."  She says walking over to us, she hugs me "Oh I missed you, we all did"

"I missed you all too" I hug her, smiling.  "Hi Mr. Matthews, Mrs. Matthews." I wave to Corys parents.

I see a small boy with curly hair "You must be Auggie" I smile at him

"Yes... Who are you?"

I laugh

"She's your aunt Y/n" Cor says

"Oh. Then Hi."

I see Josh sitting on a chair, across from his parents "Aye Josh, long time no see."

"Hey Y/n" He grins as I pass by, messing up his hair.

I grin "You need any help?"  I ask Topanga.

"No, but you can keep me company."  She laughs

I laugh "Ok"

I walk over to the table and sit down, talking to Topanga

"I'm sorry Riles, I just don't think this mysterious uncle Shawn actually exist." I hear someone say

I look over my shoulder and see two girls, around the age of thirteen.

I immediately knew who the brunette was.. But the blonde, I hadn't a clue.

"Shawn?" I ask, looking back at Topanga

"Oh yeah, didn't I tell you? He's coming to spend Christmas with us as well." I could tell she knew she didn't tell me.

I purse my lips into a flat line.

Nodding "Great,  just great."

"You haven't even spoken to him?"

I shake my head. "No. And I want to apologize about falling out of contact with you and Cory....I didn't mean to..."

"I know... But you meant to with Shawn..." 

I nod slowly "I guess."

"You must be Aunt Y/n." A voice says, causing me to turn around.

"You must be Riley." 

She smiles hugely, nodding "Yes, I can't wait to get to know you. Mom and dad have told me so much about you.... The only thin- nevermind, I'm so happy you're here."

I smile at her, then look over my shoulder "Cory?" I ask rhetorically

"Yep." Topanga says, chuckling.

"Y/n, This is Maya. Maya, this is my Aunt Y/n."

She gives me a slight nod, and I return the gesture.

Something about her, reminds me slightly...  Of somebody I used to know... I just couldn't place it.

She looks away and starts talking to Riley and I turn back to Topanga.

"Gee, Cor, I thought you'd be more happy to see me."

The voice that said those words caused my heart stop, then start beating frantically.

"SHAWN!"
