- Eva's POV
Starting somewhere new is never easy, especially when you feel you need to look over your sisters however physically can't. Setting in the car listening to rain fall down on the roof as we get driven to my uncle's home, I have my sisters currently leaning against me. My little sister is asleep on my lap. I gently stroke her hair to keep her at ease while she dreams. While my other sister who is the same age as me is currently bouncing her leg nervously while staring at the window. Smiling gently, my hand goes to her leg stopping her from continuing her nervous habit.
"Cara, everything is going to be alright. Stop worrying so much..." I tell her in hopes to help ease her however Cara being Cara doesn't know how to do that. She just sighs heavily and puts her hand on top of mine.
"What if they find us again?" She asks me timidly. I don't respond immediately however I squeeze her hand reassuring her. She squeezes mine back.
"I will not allow them to get to you two, do you understand me? They will never hurt either of you while i'm still breathing." I state to her with a promised laced in my voice. She goes stiff before she shifts so that her head is laying on my shoulder. Her long hair brushing against my arm.
"It shouldn't be on you to look after us. I mean your only older by a few minutes." I chuckle at her statement and gently pat the side of her face. Shaking my head, I kiss her gently. She sighs again and starts playing with my hand. Her fingers leaving a slow trace on my palm.
"It could be a few years like Leila or few minutes however I will still be older and want to protect you. You both are my only concern and I will continue to focus on you two until-" My statement being cut off when her hand whips up to my mouth stopping me from finishing. When she realizes that I'm done, she lets her hand fall from my mouth and continues to trace my hand with her fingers. I lay my head back on the seat and think about how we got here or what all we have gone through to still be standing.
I have two incredible sisters that are polar opposites from me. Cara is my twin although we do not look it. She is around 5'9'' with a slender build and platinum blonde hair that falls down to her mid back. She has hazel eyes and light sun kissed skin. She is shy and reserved but always happy. She will help anyone who she feels needs it and goes out of her way to make people smile.
My little sister is Leila who has dark blonde hair that is constantly in tangles. She is 11 years old and little bit of a nerd. She is too smart for her own good however she does know how to play soccer as well as any boy. She is strong willed but rarely talks to anyone other than myself and Cara.
I, on the other hand, have fiery red hair that goes down to mid back. My eyes are sapphire blue according to my sisters but how would I know. I haven't seen my reflection in 8 years. I am 17 years old, about 5'10'' and very fit. I lost my sight when I was 9 years old, the same day I lost my mother. It wasn't supposed to happen however loosing my sight only made me stronger and more determined to find the man who haunts my sisters and me.
The car came to an abrupt halt outside pulling me out of my thoughts. The driver opened his doors and got out of his seat. I gently nudged Cara to wake her up and then re-shifted Leila in my arms so that she could still rest in my arms. Leila whom was still asleep locked her arms around my neck. After Cara gently slid out of the seat, she reached her hand back to grab mine to help me to my feet. The driver was opening the trunk getting out our luggage out.
"You ladies have a beautiful home." The driver said to us as he lead us to the front door.
