KINGDOM OF EAST ANGLIA

    | THE DAYLIGHT SHINED UPON THAT OF A NEW DAY— beginnings to a new future and end of old ways. It had been but a week at the most, since Viserya had been crowned the Queen of Wessex and since the death of her predecessor—Judith. Meeting the Black danes would be her first call as true queen of Wessex and after many protests with Alfred, he finally decided to let her go. She wanted to prove to the people that she was not like the others that had come before her— ones of simple minds and doing what was told of them. No, not her for she wanted to show them that there was more to the role of a woman than just birthing children and cooking...

Viserya traveled within close proximity to Alfred, while Sihtric, Lagertha, and Torvi traveled behind them—followed by the two Dane leaders and their army.

The busyness and chattering of the people filled the surrounding air as they approached. Goats and sheep ran around with their calling sounds intermingling with the people's timid voices. The voices only seemed to boom more upon noticing that the king and queen were approaching. Men and women alike stopped, gathering to watch the incoming horde of people. Whispers interlaid amongst the villagers as they noticed the Dane army behind the people they were suppose to trust.

Lagertha beamed of satisfaction towards the Saxon people whereas Torvi parted a thin line upon her lips—perhaps still mourning over Ubbe's wounds. Unlike the others, Viserya slowly waved and happily greeted those who stood within distance to congratulate her. It were most of the young folk however, that stopped what they were doing to tell her of the high hopes held for her. It was the elder folk that still weren't too accepting of her and feared the possible change across the land.

A few younger girls who had been playing by a house away from the village, saw Viserya approaching and their faces instantly light up—-their mouths hung low with lips slightly parted with their eyes were as wide as they could stretch.

" The Mother of Dragons!" A little girl bellowed before the others beside her joined in as they dropped everything they had been doing and started running over at full force. But the kings guards behind her parted their spears just slightly down— warning of being too close. Of course he own guards did nothing but sit back in the saddles and watch as the girls made their way over. Viserya rolled her eyes, " Come closer, it is quite alright." She pardoned.
They giggled and chatted to one another as they slowly walked around her guards before reaching her. And when they did, they twirled and danced around beside her horse—-bouncing up and down as they proudly showed off their braided hair.
