Alice's POV
Finished school.
Didn't really make much of myself.
Had no inspiration.
Not until three years ago.
I was twenty four, sitting alone in my bedroom, still living with my Mother. Otis had moved out into his own home with Ola.
Eric would visit me almost everyday, trying to get me out of the huff I had been in for the past seven years but I wasn't even in a huff. I was heartbroken.
Maeve had left, no goodbye, no nothing and she was the first girl, first person at all that I had fallen in love with. That love never went away, it stayed with me. I could never get over her. Eric tried to help by setting me up on dates but nothing worked.
Then Eric had a massive brainwave, a way to distract myself.
He was determined to do it, he came up with a design, a name and everything.
A year later we were co owners of Angel's.
A family friendly cafe by day, but by night it turned into the hottest LGBT club in the entire town.
Now two years later, the cafe-club is really successful. We even have regualars who we've befriended. Life is good, the cafe-club has helped distract me from Maeve...Until...
"Excuse me, bartender."
I turned around and came face to face with a girl that looked familiar...But she didn't recognise me so it was probably just a customer that's popped in a few times.
"What can I get you?" I smiled leaning my arms on the counter.
"Just a red wine."
"Simple but the simple things are usually the best things."
"Oh trust me, I can be way more adventerous than that." She grinned. "I'm just waiting for my friend to arrive."
"Ah, I see." I said as I handed her, her drink. "I'm sorry for staring, you're just so...Beautiful."
The girl looked down and smiled shyly before she looked up. "Flattery will get you, whatever you want." She winked.
I smirked and licked my bottom lip. "A name would be a good way to start."
"Emma." She held her hand out.
"Alice." I shook her hand. "I run this place with my friend. Drinks are on him tonight...But don't tell him."
Emma laughed and placed her hand on top of mine. "You know I'll take great pleasure in that offer."
"What if...I offered you something else?" I raised my eyebrows.
Emma placed her glass on the counter and rested her arms on top of the counter.
"And...What will you be offering?"
"Stick around until closing time and you'll find out." I winked.
Emma had a playful look on her face as she grabbed her drink and took a big sip. I winked at her and turned around to serve another customer.
Tonight was gonna be a good night.

The Next Morning
"Fuck."
Emma rolled off of me, panting slightly. I sat up and looked down at her as she caught her breathe.
"You okay?" I laughed.
"That..Was...Incredible. I thought last night was amazing...But this...This was the cherry on top of the cake."
I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, I'm thankful that Eric came up with the idea for the cafe-club. I managed to buy a small flat for myself.
A lot of privacy...A lot of fun...Kind of. I slept with girls for the distraction but something felt different with Emma, like I could have a connection with her.
She was about to speak but my front door burst open.
"OH COME ON ALICE!"
"It's your own fault for not knocking Charley, I gave you that key for emergencies."
"There is an emergency!"
"What's happend now?" I sighed taking a sip of water. Sometimes Charley could be dramatic so I didn't react too huge unless it was a genuine emergency.
"Adam is gonna propose to Eric but...Adam...May have...Lost the engagement ring."
I sighed and placed my glass down. "Charley, meet Emma. Emma, meet my half sister Charley."
"Lovely. I see you have business to take care of..." Emma said as she pulled the covers over her body. "So..I'll just go.."
I walked over to her and kissed her forhead. "See you later tonight?"
"If you're lucky." She smirked.
I bit my lip and heard Charley gag.
"You know where the door is Charley, FUCKING USE IT!" I shouted turning my head to look at her.
"How are you so comfortable being very naked in front of her?" Emma asked confused.
"She's used to it."
"I'm used to it." We said at the same time.
"Charley, go fucking do something so Emma can get dressed."
I walked over to my wardrobe and pulled out my clothes for the day. Black skinny jeans and a Leeds United football shirt.
"See, I've rubbed off on you well."
"Shut up Charley, I'm only wearing it because you bought it for me. Anyways, you still here? Piss off."
"Wait. Can I have a word with you?"
I sighed and jogged over to where she was stood by the door. "Are you sure it's a good idea you see her again?" She whispered.
"What's your problem with this girl?"
She gave me a sad look and placed her hand on my shoulder. "Doesn't she remind you of someone?"
"Nope. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to continue to get ready and help Adam. The idiot." I shook my head as I walked away.
My heart skipped a beat as Charley's words stuck with me and it wasn't until now who I realised who Emma looked like.
Maeve Wiley. The girl that broke my heart...
