Laura's POV
Going to school and acting is hard. But, I love school.

Almost as much as I love acting. But, as much as I love both of those things, nothing beats my love for my family and my amazing friends I consider family.

So you can imagine why I was so upset when one of them passed away. She was my best friend and it was extremely hard to realize she wasn't going to be there for me anymore.

Her name was Velvet. Many view her as just a dog.

I viewed her as the most amazing thing to happen to me. She was always able to cheer me up.

She was practically my second sister. Even my mom would call me Velvet instead of Laura.

I sighed as I got ready for work. Maybe Ross could cheer me up.

I entered the studio. Trying to be as happy as I can be, I walked over to my friends with a smile on my face.
"What's wrong, Laur?," Ross asked, clearly seeing through my act. I sighed as tears pooled in my eyes.
"Laur?," Raini asked.
"Velvet died. And I know it sounds stupid to cry over but-." I never got to finish that sentence. Ross pulled me into a hug.

I sobbed loudly into Ross' chest as he held me tight.
"I feel so stupid. I'm crying over a dog," my muffled voice spoke.
"Velvet was clearly more to you than a dog. She was your best friend. It's okay to feel stupid Laur," Ross comforted.

The rest of the day went on. I've been doing better since this morning.

Ross, Raini and Calum haven't left my side all day and I'm so grateful. I don't know what I would do without them.

I sighed as I walked into my dressing room to gather my stuff and head home. I threw my stuff into my car and headed home.

Exhaustion written all over my face, I marched up the stairs and threw myself onto my bed. Turning my head to the side to look at the picture on my night stand, I smiled.
"I love you." And with that, I went to sleep feeling happy that my best friend at least got to live a wonderful life.
