It is a beautiful day. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping...and Riker's snoring.
Again! I rolled my eyes and made my way to the kitchen.
After we got home from the movies last night, Ross and Laura were too tired to walk up the stairs to sleep in a bed, or in Ross' case, drive home. So the two of them slept on the couch.
Ross was lying down flat on his back with Laura's head using his chest as a pillow. I smiled softly down on the pair before finally arriving in the kitchen.
I sat down at the island with a cup of coffee between my hands. I was so nervous, yet excited.
Riker and I finally picked a date. April 4th, 2013 is when we decided to get married.
I've always wanted an April wedding. I slowly got up and put my cup in the sink to wash later.
I walked over to the couch and peeped at Ross and Laura. Ross' eyes were opened, he was smiling down at a sleeping Laura and playing with her hair as she snuggled closer to him, a faint smile playing on her lips.
"Morning," I said to Ross, taking a seat on the couch across from him.
"Morning," he spoke back, moving his eyes from Laura to me.
"What are you doing up so early?," he asked.
"Your brother is snoring again," I told him. He laughed softly.
"You better get used to it." I rolled my eyes.
"Morning you two," Laura spoke, letting out a yawn.
"Morning, Laur."
"It's good to see you're finally awake, Sleeping Beauty," I joked.
"Shut up, V," she spoke and threw a pillow at me. Laura's eyes started to close but she snapped them open. She broke away from Ross' embrace and sat up straight on the couch.
"I'm going to go make some coffee. You guys want a cup?," Laura asked. I shook my head.
"I'll take a cup, Laur." Laura walked off to the kitchen. I eyed Ross.He looked up at me, confusion written on his face.
"What?"
"You have a girlfriend, right?," I asked, out of the blue.
"Yeah, her names Maia. We co-stared in Teen Beach Movie together." I nodded.
"Why? What's up?," he asked. I shrugged.
"Come on, V. There must have been a reason for you to ask me," Ross countered. I sighed.
"The way you act around Laura. It just seems like you guys are more than friends. I don't want Laura to get hurt. I don't want her to think you're leading her on."
"V...I'd never hurt Laura. I told you this about a month ago and I'm going to tell you this again, Laura is my best friend, nothing more, nothing less. Now are we good?," he asked. I nodded.
"Yeah, we're good."

Laura's POV
"Sorry I took so long, Ross," I apologized as I handed him his cup of coffee.
"It's cool, Laur. Don't worry about it."
"What did I miss?," I asked.
"Nothing." Vanessa shot Ross a look.
"Nothing at all."
{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
"Ross, tell me. What were you and Vanessa talking about?," I whined.
"No, Laur, just leave it alone," Ross spoke, stopping his car as the light turned red.
"Pleaseee," I begged, leaning my head on his right arm.
"You like my girlfriend, right?" I scrunched my eyebrows together.
"Maia? Yeah she's super sweet," I spoke through my clamped mouth. I like Maia I do, it's just...why Ross?I mean, I know why Ross but, why my Ross?
"Why? Did you guys break up?," I asked, trying to sound concerned. He momentarily took his eyes off the road, shaking his head 'no.'Dam.
"Then what's wrong?," I asked. He sighed.
"It's just...before I met Maia, I was terribly and helplessly attracted to this other girl. I just couldn't stop thinking about her. She was, and still is, plaguing my every thoughts. I don't think it's fair to Maia for me to still be with her if I can't top thinking about this other girl." I nodded along with what he was saying.
"Who is she? The other girl?," I clarified.
"I'd rather not say." I rolled my eyes.
"When did you start keeping secrets from me?," I questioned.
"Please, Laur. Just drop it." I huffed and decided to look out the passenger window as the trees blew past us.
"Fine."
"Thank you," Ross mumbled.
"So, what are you going to do?," I asked, looking at him. He pulled into the studio parking lot and killed the car's engine.
"I don't know." I looked at him with sympathetic eyes.
"You'll do the right thing. You always do."

Ross' POV
This is it. I'm really doing this. Can I even go through with this? Yeah, of course I can.
I mean, we weren't even dating that long. Almost two months.
With my mind made up, I knocked on her door. No turning back now.
She opened the door. Her short brown hair dripping wet, a big smile plastered on her face.
Please let that smile stay on her face.
"Hey, Rossy!," she exclaimed in her Australian accent.
"Hey, Maia."
"What brings you here?"
"We need to talk." Her face dropped.
"Oh, no. Are you breaking up with me?" Tears pooled in her eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Maia. It's not you-really Ross? Or are you trying to spare my feelings?," she interrupted.
"Maia-spare me the cliches, Ross."
"I really am sorry, Maia. It's just not working for me."
"Why?"
"I really wish I could tell you. I wish I wasn't doing this. But this doesn't feel right. We don't feel right. Can you understand that?" She sniffled, looking away from me. It broke my heart.
"Goodbye, Ross."
"I'm sorry." She turned her head to face me, her hand still resting on the doorknob. She looked completely broken.I can't believe I did this to her.
"Me too," she spoke, now disappearing into her house. Was it really worth it?I mean, what I feel for Laura could only be admiration...right? Yeah, that's what it is.
But I definitely had to break up with Maia. Sure she was sweet and drop dead gorgeous, but there was no connection.
All we really had in common was music. Her voice is amazing.
But it wasn't working. All we talked about was music.
We acted more like friends then a couple. I sighed and walked to my car.
Slamming the door as I got in. Resting my head on the wheel, I began to sob.
Helplessly and hopelessly I began to sob. It was for the best.
Why does it hurt so much? Why won't these tears stop falling?
Once the dreaded tears stopped falling, I drove to the one place I could really be myself. Where the only person I wanted to see was.
A place that made me feel better about myself. A place I felt so completely loved.
Laura's house.
