Hello, I hear this week is all about bullying and luckily I have a bullying experience that I can share. Now mind you, the experience isn't long and heartfelt, just a regular bout of your everyday bullying - Cyber Bullying to be exact (hence the title).  Here it is in fairy tale form:

Once Upon A Time, there was a girl named Super Duper Awesome (obviousy this isn't my real name, but what's the fun of telling a story if you don't tell some white lies to enhance it?)  She wasn't your average girl, at least not in regards to her sense of style, but no one had a problem with it.  She still had friends to goof around with during class, and eat with at lunch.  Walking the halls never was a issue because the most that happened was someone saying "hi" to her on their way to their next class.  In fact, for Super Duper Awesome bullying, especially Cyber Bullying, was avoidable and not worth worrying about.

Some background information on Super: she was a freshmen in high school; she was on the girl's JV basketball team; and she (random fact) never ate the lunch the school provided.

One day she was walking around during lunch, after eating her lunch, wasting the last couple of minutes until her next class when...Nothing happened.  At least not anything she knew about until some time later.  A week later (this is a roundabout time, 'cause I really have no idea long it was), Super was in her last class of the day (Math) and it was just about the end of it.  She had already finished the work problems on the computer, and was scooting around in her rolly chair goofing off with her classmates.  One of them, a girl, suddenly announced without any lead up that, "someone posted a picture of you on the internet, Super."

Super, thinking that this girl was joking or that whatever it was wasn't bad, said, "really?"  With a mixture of wonderment and sarcasm.

The girl, obviously not catching the sarcasm, replied, "yeah, it said 'Ratchet's at Eastern' and then showed a picture of you."  (Here I'm paraphrasing, because I don't really remember what she said).

Now by this point Super knew that the girl wasn't lying, and that the photo she was talking about wasn't something she should take as a compliment.  Super felt a jolt go through her stomach, and when it settled an unpleasant feeling lingered in the pit of it.  Her only thought that rest of the day was why would anyone do such a thing?

To make a short story shorter, Super (me) was avenged by her mom, whom decided that she wasn't going to stand for such blalant disrespect toward her child and went to the school one day, explained the situation to some other adults, demanded that the girl responsible (the girl was actually apart of the girl's basketball team as well but on the Varsity team), be reprimanded in some way and that the image be taken down.  All's well that ends well...

A great story, right?  It's a true story, and except for a select few things (the fact that it's written instead of live action, some paraphrasing, and the fact that it took you probably five minutes tops to experience it all), everything I wrote was spot on to the actual event.  I hope you appreciate the power of this story, and that you'll come and bless me with your reads another day.
