“You know it hurts me but you do it anyway.”

CHAPTER : TWO

The loss of warmth roused me from my slumber, and as I slowly opened my eyes, I noticed the absence of Jungkook beside me. It was clear he had already departed for work. Glancing at the clock, its bright digits indicated that it was already 8 am. I sighed, realizing that it was time to get up and start the day. My stomach grumbled, demanding attention and reminding me that I needed to prepare breakfast for myself.

After luxuriating in a refreshing shower, I emerged from the bathroom, still wrapped in a towel, and my eyes were instantly drawn to a beautifully laid-out tray of breakfast on the tea table. A wave of surprise washed over me as I surveyed the room and realized that there was no sign of Jungkook.

Just as I was about to step out of the room to seek him out, the door suddenly swung open, revealing none other than...

"Jungkook?" I said, my voice tinged with astonishment, as he greeted me with a warm smile. His damp hair was still dripping water, and he was wearing nothing more than a towel secured around his waist, indicating that he had just stepped out of the shower. He sauntered into the room, seemingly unperturbed.

"I thought you had already left for work," I said, still processing his unexpected presence.

"Well, I can't leave you alone," he replied, his voice laced with affection, as he casually settled onto the couch.

I joined him, taking a seat and gazing at the sumptuous meal. "Did you make this?" I inquired, my concern extending beyond the food to the potential state of my kitchen.

"Yes," he stated with confidence, picking up a piece of pancake and savoring it with a contented moan. "Since when did you start cooking?" I asked, genuinely curious about this newfound culinary skill.

He sighed and then playfully nudged a forkful of pancake into my mouth, momentarily leaving me speechless. "Guk," I managed to say, my mouth still full.

"You know I used to cook for you," he noted, his eyes locked onto mine. "Aera... I really do miss you," he admitted, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Now, eat," he urged, and I nodded. The pancake was delicious, and I couldn't help but wonder where he'd acquired this newfound talent.

"Jin Hyung taught me," he explained, catching my surprise. "I can see why it tastes so good," I replied, earning a playful glare from Jungkook.

"That's a bit rude," he remarked, suddenly pushing me back onto the couch and hovering over me. I let out a surprised scream, but he silenced me with a tender kiss.

"Now, it must taste even better," he said, his eyes locked onto mine. I could only manage a small nod, lost for words.

"Good," he patted my head and stood up. "Now, get ready. We need to head to work," he said with a smirk, leaving me in a dazed state. He walked over to the closet and began getting dressed in his work attire.

I sighed and started to get ready myself, all the while aware of how jealous Jungkook could get when I complimented other men. His possessive side emerged whenever I did, but it was something I never regretted. I smiled at the thought before getting up and collecting the dishes, carrying them over to the sink to wash it.

_________

"Miss Park," someone called my name as I focused on the computer screen in front of me, the soft hum of the office creating a backdrop to my work. I swiveled in my chair to see a familiar face.
