It was 3:48 in the morning and Percy was practically the only one in the hospital waiting room. He was covered in blood (not his) and was 90% sure his arm was dislocated. He knew he shouldn't have gone to that bar. Why had he let Leo and Jason talk him into "having a good time"? The drinks were sour and the people there were even worse. He's just happy he wasn't arrested after that biker tried to murder him. Though it wasn't his fault, he was still, as always, blamed. Both Jason and Leo bailed as soon as the fight began leaving a very beat up Percy to use the last of his $10 to get a cab to the hospital.

"What happened to you?" Asked a girl as she staggered over to a chair and plopped down. Her blonde hair was in tangles, her face scratched up and dirty. Her jacket had a sleeve ripped off but other than that she was fine.

"Bar fight," Percy shrugged, trying to act tough as if that type of thing happened every night.

"Same here," she shrugged back, crossing her arms.

"Really?" Percy asked surprised, "You don't look like the type of person to go to bars."

Percy hadn't meant it as an insult, but the girl looked immediately offended.

"What do you mean?"

"Well..." Percy hesitated, looking for the right words. He did not want to get on this girls bad side. "For one thing, you have no make-up on."

"What's wrong with that?" She nearly yelled, but quieted as she remembered she was was in a hospital.

"Nothing. You actually look quite beautiful." They both realized what he had just said and blushed violently.

"Okay... What else?" She asked curiously.

"Your clothes," Percy pointed out.

"And what's wrong with my clothes?" She asked, her anger returning.

"Nothing. They just aren't the sort of thing girls wear to a bar. They aren't flashy or open. I like them though.... They look nice on you," Percy said, indicating to her plain jeans and hoodie.

"Okay, okay you're right. My friend Piper made me go with her. I didn't even drink anything, just sat there and read..." She said, sounding a little ashamed.

"Wait, then how'd you get into a fight?" Percy asked confused.

"Oh well... This girl, um, she spoiled the ending for me. So... I kinda punched her. It escalated from there...." She said timidly.

"Badass!" Percy clapped, cracking up. "Wow, I like you." He admitted.

"Why? I'm just some nerd. You get into bar fights and are hot." She covered her mouth after the last part, cursing under her breath.

"What? No I'm not!" Percy denied.

"Yes you are!"

"No! If anyone was the hot it'd be you." He declared.

"Really?" She asked quiet confused.

"Yes. And for your information, I don't go to bars either. My friends forced me to go with them. The only reason I got into a fight was because I clumsily spilled some of my drink on a biker guy. He wasn't pleased."

"Wow," Annabeth laughed.

"Ms. Chase." A nurse announced entering the waiting room. "We have looked over your results, you are free to go. You have minor injuries, we advise a few days of rest, some advil, and an ice pack."

"Okay thanks!" Annabeth smiled, getting up and beginning to pack up her stuff. Her backpack was open at her feet, her stuff scattered across the chairs next to her.

"And Mr. Jackson, your shoulder is not dislocated. You have few injuries and need no more attention." The nurse said, making marks on her clipboard.

"So I'm free to go?" Percy questioned.

"On the contrary, you have alcohol in your system, only slight. We can release you only to a family member."

Dang it, Percy though angrily. All his family was back in New York. He was going to have to stay here all night until the alcohol left his system. This sucks.

"That won't be a problem," the girl replied. "I'm his wife."

"You are?" asked the nurse and Percy both at the same time.

"Why yes," she laughed, "I just decided to keep my last name."

"But you two came in at different times, from different bars," the nurse said skeptically.

"Yeah, we were in a fight, but seeing my seaweed brain before me covered in blood I realize how much I love him!"

She sauntered across the room and gave Percy a kiss on the cheek. "Just go with it," she whispered in his ear

"Yes.. my wife... yea... uh... and I love her... yup...and um... yeah...." He muttered.

"Yup!" Agreed the girl, grabbing the clipboard from the nurse and signing it.

"Good enough for me." Shrugged the nurse, who was obviously at the end of her shift.

"Seaweed Brain? Really?" Percy asked as him and the girl exited the hospital.

"Shut up, you owe me."

"Yeah I know...."

"Also, you're a horrible actor." Annabeth teased.

"Yeah, I know."

"Need a ride?" The girl asked, climbing into her car.

"Yes please..." Percy hopped in.

"I'm Annabeth by the way," The girl said as they left the parking lot.

"Percy."

"Hmm, Percy Jackson... Well It's nice to meet you."

"You too."

"Where do you live Seaweed Brain? Narnia?" Annabeth asked with a laugh.

Percy laughed as well, shaking his head. He knew this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
