As the day went on, Percy's luck just seemed to be getting worse and worse. First, he'd almost caused a huge fire while making breakfast, then he'd found out he was going to be late for work, and now his car had broken down on the side of the highway. Reaching into his pocket, he discovered more bad news: he left his phone at home. Now he was stuck in the middle of nowhere with no way to get home or to work. He simply sat down on the hood of his car and hung his head.

After what seemed like forever, a tow truck pulled over in front of him. The brown-haired guy in the front seat opened his window and looked back at him. "Hey man, are you stuck?"

Percy nodded. "Yeah, my car broke down and I don't have my phone. Can you take me to the nearest mechanic?"

"Of course, just let me hook you up."

Percy nodded again, stepping aside to allow the guy to do his work. After his car was hooked up to the truck, he climbed in the passenger seat. "Thanks man."

Eventually, the tow truck driver (who's name Percy had learned was Leo) pulled up to a good-sized garage. He stepped out of the truck. "I'm just gonna go let the mechanic know you're here. We're friends."

Percy nodded. "Thanks Leo."

A few minutes later, Leo came back out and backed Percy's car into the shop.

After paying Leo, Percy thanked him and watched him drive off.

"So, I heard you broke down." said a voice from behind him.

Percy nodded, turning around. "Yeah, I uh..." he trailed off as he realized the mechanic was a girl. Her blonde hair was messily thrown into a ponytail, her clothes were stained with grease, and she even had smudges along her arms and cheeks. But she was the most beautiful woman that he'd ever seen.

She snapped her fingers twice to regain his attention. "You still with us?" she asked, chuckling slightly.

Shaking his head, Percy snapped out of his shock and coughed. "Sorry, yeah. I broke down on the highway about an hour ago."

The girl nodded, lifting up the car's hood to take a look. "Right. How come you didn't call someone?"

"I forgot my phone at home."

The girl nodded again, fiddling with something under the hood. "I see..." She put the hood back down and lifted the car slightly with a jack. She slid underneath with a toolbox and Percy couldn't stop staring, wide-eyed and blushing profusely. After a few minutes, she finished and put the car back down, turning the keys and starting it up. "Should be all set now."

Percy nodded. "Thank you so much, what's your name?"

"Annabeth."

"I'm Percy." He nodded with a smile, handing her a cash payment. "Thanks."

Annabeth nodded. "No problem. In fact..." She paused a moment to pull out a card from her pocket, beginning to write something down on it. "Here's my card... In case you need anything else."

Percy nodded, taking the card and stepping into the car. "Thanks again, for everything."

"Take care."

Backing out of the garage, Percy pulled onto the road. At the first red light he caught, he took a look at the card Annabeth had given him.

Annabeth's Garage

Pausing a moment, he slowly flipped it over to look at what she had written, blushing as he read.

I noticed you staring at me and blushing ;)

Call me sometime on my cell.

He stared for another moment, grinning before he was brought back to reality by the honking of cars behind him. He looked up and the light was green. He quickly put the card down and drove off. He'd have to call Annabeth later.
