Funeral

The next day was mayor Lockwood's funeral. The mayor was always a major asshole to Tyler. But I still have to go because Tyler needs me there. I got dressed and put on a black dress that I wore to my parents funeral.

I put makeup on and braided my hair. When I was done Damon drove me there. Tyler was standing at the entrance and I ran into his arms. "I'm so sorry" I told him. "Thanks" he muttered into the crook of my neck.

I followed him in and Damon went over to talk to Tyler and Caroline's moms. Tyler turned his head. There was a man walking up the walkway. 

"So the black sheep returns" Tyler said to him. "Tyler?" the man asked. Tyler nodded. "What happened to you? In my mind your twelve years old" he said.

"Well that's two years older than the last time you saw me Uncle Mason" Tyler replied. The man, Mason, reached over and hugged him. 

When they pulled back Tyler gestured to me "Uncle Mason this is my girlfriend Jessie" he said introducing me. "Nice to meet you" I said offering my hand and he shook it smiling.

"Likewise" he replied. "I'm going to get a drink" I told Ty. He nodded and led Mason inside the house.

I saw Elena walk in and I made my way over to her "I thought you were still at the hospital?" I asked her confused. She looked up and me "We left early" she replied.

Bonnie came huffing over to us "Damon is driving me crazy! He's walking around like some hero because he cured Caroline, when it's his fault all this happened in the first place" she said angrily.

"I'm sorry Bonnie, what Damon has done is just horrible" Elena replied. She sighed "Ok hateful Damon moment over, thanks" she said and touched her arm. As she did so Bonnies face went white.

I knew right away with that look that this was not Elena. Bonnie put a smile back on her face. "I have to find Tyler and pay my respects" Bonnie told her. "I'll come too" I said following close behind her.

When we were away Bonnie pulled out her phone. "I'm calling Elena" she said dialing on the phone.

"That was Katherine, wasn't it?" I asked her scared. She nodded worriedly.

I heard Elena answer the phone. "Elena where are you?" Bonnie asked her. I leaned over to listen.

"Bonnie I know I'm late, getting in the car now, I'll be there in five. You and Jess can last for five minutes alone" she replied laughing. I gulped at her answer. If Katherines her I don't think we'll last five minutes.

Bonnie hung up the phone and looked at me scared. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a blur rush in. I turned around and Katherine was standing there. You can tell she's not Elena because of the curls in her hair and the predatory look on her face.

"We haven't officially met, I'm Katherine" she said to us. I backed away behind Bonnie. Bonnie now would be the time to go all Sabrina! Bonnie moved me more behind her.

"We know who you are" Bonnie replied staring her down. "Of course you do, your the best friends, right? I've been piecing together Elena's life, Isobel told me it was a bit of a puzzle" she said moving closer. She smirked as Bonnie moved back farther.

"I do know who Jenna and Jeremy are and I've met the delicious ex-boyfriend Matt, who's sweet on Caroline, then there's you" she said pointing to me "The orphan adopted by the aunt and you the vampire-hating Bennett witch. How'd I do?" she asked grinning.

I try to run toward the door but she flashed in front of us. Bonnie stared her down and gave her an aneurysm. She moaned and held her head in pain.
