Masquerade

Last night Damon texted me to come over the next morning. Bonnie called me and said she was going too and that she would pick me up and to not tell Elena.

"Whats going on?" I asked her as I got in the car. "We have a plan to get Katherine" she said and drove to the Salvatore house.

when we got in Caroline, Stefan, Damon, Jeremy, and Rick were already there. "Finally" Damon said when he spotted us.

"So you have a plan?" I asked him. "Yep we're gonna kill her at the founder's party" he said. "She cornered me at the grill today and told me to tell you guys that you need to bring the Moonstone there or she's going to start killing people" Caroline explained.

They explained the plan in detail to me. My job with Jeremy was to lure her upstairs and then let Caroline take over from there. If Elena finds out what we're doing it could ruin everything. She could hurt Elena and that is who we're most worried about right now.

I need to distract Elena when I get home so she doesn't suspect anything. She didn't want to go anyway because she was upset about Stefan.

"This is going to get dangerous, so nows the time to back out" Stefan told us. "Yeah we don't need anyone with cold feet" Damon said and deliberately looked at Caroline.

"What? I'm not chickening out, she killed me, fair is fair" she replied and Damon nodded convinced.

Stefan looked at Bonnie. "I'm in as long as no one gets hurt" she told him. "Except Katherine" I said. "Yes, tonight Katherine gets a stake in her heart" Damon chuckled.

When we all went over what we were supposed to do, Bonnie took me home. When I got in Elena was eating breakfast.

I grabbed an apple from the bowl on the table. "Are you going tonight?" she asked me. I nodded "Ty asked me a while ago and it's my first masquerade party" I told her. She nodded with a sad look on her face.

I spent the day hanging out with her and trying to cheer her up a bit about Stefan but I didn't make a dent.

A bit later Matt, Jeremy, and Rick walked in with Jenna. She had a big bandage on her stomach and Matt helped sit her on the couch. Elena walked over "Sit" she said to her as Jenna tried to get up.

"It's so embarrassing. How do you walk into a knife?" she asked. "Only you Aunt Jenna" I said sitting next to her.

"It was a freak accident, it happens" Elena told her reassuringly. We made lunch and hung out and then Matt left to get ready for the party.

Elena started to get suspicious when Jeremy said he was going too. "Why is everyone going?" she asked me. "They need a night out" I shrugged.

I got ready and put on a blood red cocktail dress with a mask. It was red and black and very pretty. Caroline took me shopping for it a week ago and it's perfect. Too bad I'm wearing it for a murder mission.

I finished getting ready and said goodbye to Elena, Jenna, and Rick. Tyler picked me up and took me there. When we got there he wanted to hang out with Matt and some girls in the other room. I told him I wanted to mingle a bit and I'll be in later and he agreed and left.

When he was gone I immediately found Jeremy and we took our places and waited for Katherine to come in.

Jeremy and I danced together as we waited. Ten minutes later I saw her walk in and go over to Stefan. They started dancing together and I was a bit sickened at it.

Amy Bradley walked over to them and started talking. Katherine reached over to fix her necklace and then snapped her neck and pushed her body at Stefan and walked away.
