Unexpected (Vampire Diaries Fanfic)

Hospital

The police were everywhere after Elena called them. They carried John out and drove him to the hospital. She called Stefan right after and hopefully, he'll be here soon because I'm petrified.

Jeremy had taken a bunch of pills with vampire blood and tried to kill himself. I knew Anna's death would mess with him but I didn't think like this.

Stefan came and the cops let him through I was sitting with Jeremy in his room when Stefan came in.

He came over and checked Jeremy's face. He looked into his eyes and checked him. "So is he a vampire?" Elena asked worriedly. Stefan shook his head and she let out a breath, relieved.

"No he's not, the blood he consumed healed him" he told her. Jeremy's face fell "So I'm not a vampire, damn it!" he said sadly.

I looked at him shocked "Jeremy don't say that, why would you want that?" I asked him but he ignored me. He looked at Elena with grief in his eyes. 

"Did you hear about Anna, what happened to her tonight?" he asked accusingly. Elena looked down. "She's dead" he told us.

Stefan looked at him angrily and pulled him back onto the bed. "Jeremy I'm very sorry about Anna but don't you dare pull something like this again because her blood is leaving your system and you could really die!" Stefan yelled angrily at him.

"Stefan" Elena said putting a hand on his arm to stop him. "No, he needs to know how stupid he is! You should think about other people before you do something so reckless!" I shouted at him and he avoided my eyes.

I continued glaring at him and Elena got up "I'm going to the hospital to check on John with Jess, can you stay with him?" she asked him and he nodded.

Jeremy huffed "I don't need a babysitter" he whined. "Obviously you do" I snapped at him and he looked down. I can't believe he was stupid enough to want to become a vampire. Annas dead so what's the point of him wanting that now.

I got my coat and Elena and I drove to the hospital to check on John. On the way there we got a text from Matt saying that Caroline was in an accident and was badly injured.

We burst through the doors and saw Damon, Matt, and Bonnie waiting there. Matt walked over when he saw us and his face looked so anxious. Elena went over and hugged him.

"Matt, what happened?" Elena asked. "We were driving and Tyler heard this noise and lost control of the car and Caroline got hurt" he said sadly.

"Is she going to make it?" I asked him. He shook his head "I don't know" he said sitting down with his head in his hands. Bonnie ran over to Elena and hugged her. Carolines too strong to die from something like this, she has to be ok.

Damon pulled me, Elena, and Bonnie off to the side. "I can give her some vampire blood and she'll be fine" Damon told us.

Elena shook her head "No we can't risk it, it's not safe" Elena objected."She'll be fine in the hospital and it will be out of her system in a day" he explained buy Elena shook her head. "It's too risky I can't agree to that" she replied.

I wanted Caroline to be ok and vampire blood would do that but is it worth the risk, she could become a vampire. Bonnie shook her head "Do it" she told Damon.

Elena was about to object "Elena this is Caroline, we can't lose her" she said and I agreed. "If I do this we're square" Damon told Bonnie.

"No but you'll still do it, for Elena" she said. Elena reluctantly agreed and Bonnie walked away. That left just me, Damon, and Elena.

 "Uh, all right I know this is probably the last thing you want to do right now, but we should talk about what happened tonight," he said to her. I leaned up against the wall listening to them.

Elena nodded "Yeah, Katherine got into the house and almost killed John!" she told him. His face went white. "Wait what?" he asked her. I nodded "Yeah I saw her, she cut off John's fingers" I said shuddering.

"Wait a minute so it wasn't you that I drove home?" he asked. She shook her head. "What's wrong?" Elena asked us. Damon was speechless so I answered. "Well, apparently Damon kissed Katherine thinking it was you" I said. 

Damon shot a look at me "Thanks, big mouth" he said. I shrugged "Well that's what you get for kissing your brother's girlfriend" I said back. Damon walked away from us into Caroline's hospital room.
