Unexpected (Vampire Diaries Fanfic)

Katherine

I knew Damon would take care of it and Caroline would be fine. When he was done we drove back home to relieve Stefan of babysitting duty.

 When we unlocked the door we saw Stefan sprawled out on the ground. "What happened?" Elena said rushing over to him. "Katherine happened" Damon replied.

We sat in the kitchen as Damon and Stefan talked. "Did she say what she wanted" Damon asked him. "No" Stefan grunted in pain. 

Stefan started pacing. "Woman certainly knows how to make an entrance" I chimed in. "She said she fooled one of us at least, what did she mean?" Stefan asked us.

Oh no, he isn't going to like this. "She pretended to be Elena too when I showed up earlier" Damon said. Elena came into the room again "I told Jeremy everything, I can't lie to him anymore" she explained.

"Are you ok?" Stefan asked her. She shook her head "No, I'm not ok. I thought that with all the tomb vampires gone, things would get better." she said. "I know, we all did" Stefan replied.

"Katherine was in this house, that means she's been invited in. What are we going to do?" she asked them. "Move" Damon said shrugging. "Very helpful, thank you" she said Sarcastically.

"Katherine wants you dead and there's zero you can do about it, You will be dead. But you're not. So clearly she has other plans."

"Right, And we need to find out what those other plans are and not provoke her in the process.So what happening tonight when you thought she was Elena?" Stefan asked him curiously.

"To risk another frown line encroaching on a very crowded forehead.... we kissed" he said. Stefan frowned "What do you mean you kissed?" he asked him.

Damon replied "You know when two lips pucker and they go..." he said and made smacking noises with his mouth. Stefan ran at him and Damon dodged him. 

"Don't be obvious Stefan" Damon said. Stefan started towards him again and I jumped in the middle. Elena yelled "Stefan he kissed Katherine not me, I would never do that" she told him. Damon frowned at her.

"We don't have time for this, guys." I said to them. They eyed each other. "Later then" Stefan told him angrily. Damon nodded.

"John must know something. There has to be a reason why Katherine tried to kill him." she said. Damon scoffed at that "She's Katherine! She loves to play games and you're fooling yourself if you think you're going to find out what she's up to before she wants you to know." 

"No Elena right John could know something through Isobel, your mother was in touch with Katherine so maybe we can go to the hospital and talk to him" Stefan said.

Damon leaned against the wall "I've got a better idea, I'm going to ignore the bitch" he said to us. "Is that wise?" I asked him. "If Katherine thinks she's being ignored it'll lure her out and she'll make her move" he said.

"Then what?" I asked him. He shrugged "Stake her, rip her head off. Something poetic, we'll see" he said and walked out of the room.
