Unexpected (Vampire Diaries Fanfic)

It's been a few days since my little self-exile. I feel much better now. The stress isn't pressing down on me anymore. I'm still grieving over the life I've lost but I now know I need to embrace who I am now.

Everyone gave me my space as I asked them and I really appreciate it. I could tell that something big is going on now and I know I need to get over my self-loathing and start helping out my friends with this mess.

I walked downstairs and saw Elena in the kitchen with Jeremy. Jeremy looked exhausted and beat up. I ran over to them. "What happened!" I said looking him over. Jeremy looked down defeated as Elena glared at him.

"My idiotic brother decided to take some magic sleeping powder and attack Katherine with it to get the moonstone. Stefan had to go in and save him and now he's stuck in the tomb!" she yelled at him. "I'm sorry! I was just trying to help" he yelled back.

"Stefans stuck with Katherine!" I yelled. Elena sighed and put her head in her hands. I put my arm around her and cuddled into her. "He'll be fine Elena, he won't fall for any of her tricks," I told her. She nodded and held me back. "I know, I'm just worried" she replied.

"Man I'm not here for a little while and things turn to shit" I muttered. "Well someone is full of themselves" Damon said as he walked into the room.

I went over to him and gave him a hug. "Nice to see you again jessie girl" he said hugging me back. "Yeah, I'm better now" I nodded and pulled away from him.

"So what are we going to do?" I asked them. 

They all sat down with me and explained the plan. They also went over everything I've missed. I was also introduced to Rose. I was a bit wary of her when I found out that she tried to give Elena away to this Klaus guy.

All of this is nuts. As soon as we get rid of one problem we get ten more. I've lost so many people, I can't lose Elena as well. I'll do everything I can to help keep her safe. 

"So what about this Elijah guy? What do we do about him?" I asked them. "Well I thought we killed him but apparently the guy just doesn't want to die" Damon replied.

"I don't know but let's worry about one thing at a time" Elena replied. There was a knock on the door and Bonnie walked in. "Hey, Bon" I said as I walked over to her and gave her a hug. We pulled apart and she put her arm around my shoulders and said "Ok I'm here, let's talk".

"So you want me to despell the moonstone?" Bonnie asked us. Jeremy nodded "Yes, I can't think of any other way to completely stop the ritual" he replied. Elena shook her head "It's not a good idea. We don't need to make Klaus even angrier." she said back. 

I raised my eyebrow "Oh and giving yourself over to Klaus is the best plan?" I snarked back. "It's the only way to stop all of this!" she shot back.

"We don't even know if Klaus will find out" Bonnie replied. "We can't be dealing with this right now. Stefan is stuck in that tomb with Katherine, who knows what that psycho will do" Elena said.

"Stefan wants me to focus on this" Bonnie shot back. "Well don't listen to him! He thinks that he's protecting me but he's wrong" Elena argued.

"So him keeping you from your suicidal plan is not protecting you?" I shot back. "Elena I'm with Stefan on this one, we're not gonna let you get used in some creepy sacrifice ritual" Bonnie said while grabbing the moonstone from Elena's hand. Bonnie got up to walk out and locked eyes with Jeremy. "I'm getting a coffee, I'll be back later" she said while hurrying out the door.

"Elena why are you on some suicide mission" Jeremy asked. "I'm trying to prevent everyone else from getting hurt". "Oh so bringing Klaus the moonstone so you can get yourself killed is ok?" he said back. He shook his head and walked out of the room.

I looked at her "They're right Elena" I said as I stood up and followed Jeremy out. "Jer?" I said. He turned and looked at me "What's up?". "I know this is a bad time but what's going on with you and Bonnie?" I asked curiously. He sighed and shook his head "I don't want to talk about it" he said and continued walking.
