Unexpected (Vampire Diaries Fanfic)

Who thought I would get a history lesson?

"It started in 1864 when me and Stefan were human" he started.

 "Wait you were born in the 1800s" I said shocked. 

He nodded "Save the questions till after princess" he told me shaking his head.

"I had just left the confederacy and went home to be with my father and brother. When I got their I found out we had a house guest, a women whose parents were recently killed, her name was Katherine Pierce. 

She was beautiful and I fell for her instantly, but so did my brother. We fought over her. She slowly revealed her true self to each of us, that she was a vampire.

 Me and Stefan didn't care and both promised to keep her secret. My father and the other founding family had a secret also, they knew about vampires and wanted to eradicate them all. My brother and I feared for Katherine. 

Stefan being the martyr he is tried to reason with father and explain that not all vampire could be bad. Katherine had been feeding us her blood for awhile, incase we ever died it would bring us back to life as vampires.

 Father realized that Stefan's sympathy must be for Katherine and he poisoned her with vervain a plant lethal to vampires. 

They rounded up all the vampires in Mystic falls. Stefan and I ran to try and free Katherine but we were both shot by our father and Katherine burned in the church with the rest of the vampires.

 Stefan and I died but because we had Katherine's blood in us we became vampires" he explained.

"So Katherine just died?" I asked him. He shook his head 

"We thought she did but a witch, Bonnies ancestor Emily ,sealed a tomb underneath the church that locked them in it and protected them" he told me. "Did you go and get her out?"I asked.

"We tried but when we got there she wasn't there, she convinced one of the guards to let her go before they burned the church, she's been alive and out this whole time but didn't care enough come back to us" he said with a sad expression on his face.

Stefan walked back into the house. "Who ever it was is gone now" he said. 

"I'm guessing it was one of the tomb vampires that got out" He explained. I looked at him "Are my parents ok?" I asked fearing the answer.

He looked at me sadly "No i'm sorry" He told me with his head down. I broke down crying and Elena hugged me.

The police showed up later and questioned me.

 Damon and Stefan told me not to mention vampires so I told them I just found them dead and ran next door.

Jenna came home when Elena called her and she told the police that I would be staying here now with them. 

It turns out that in my parents will they left Jenna in charge of me, she was the only friend that they were still in contact with.

They wrote it when I was very young and they were still best friends with her. 

I'm still in shock. My parents, the people who have protected me and loved me for all my life are gone and i'll never see them again. 

I'll never have my dad help me with my homework or kiss me goodnight. I will never have my mom to confide in or hug me when I need her.

They were killed by something that exists in stories and horror movies. My friends are vampires and witches. All this was making my head want to explode.

Tyler came over when he found out. When he walked in he wrapped his arms around me and I buried my head in his chest and cried. 

When I felt like I couldn't cry anymore I put my head in his lap and he stroked my hair as my mind went blank with nothingness.

He stayed the night but Jenna made him sleep on the couch, my new guardian kicking in.

He brought me upstairs and I slept in the guest room in Elena's house, which I guess is mine now.

How can my life become any worse,I thought as I fell asleep miserable with my life.
