The next day that Sasuke went to work, [Name] went around the house checking to see if there was any more cleaning for her to do. As usual, there was nothing, and the young girl instantly grew bored.

"Maybe I should go see if there's anything worthwhile to do..." she uttered to herself, getting off of her seat on the couch and beginning to make her way to her room. From how extraordinarily ornamented and decorated the interior was, you could never be able to tell that [Name] [Surname] was a captive being kept prisoner against her will.

From the ornately wrangled headboard of her velveteen curtained four poster bed to the many stuffed toys and animals covering very inch of the pale lilac wallpapered room, her living quarters echoed that of an overgrown little girl, also emitting the feeling of weakness and vulnerability.

[Name] sighed, looking around her all too clean room. Truth be told, she was never a fan of these things, including the weird costumes Sasuke made her wear sometimes. Nonetheless, that didn't stop the Uchiha from spending multitudes of money on trivial things such as those items, which had slowly accumulated in her living quarters over time.

Every time [Name] was handed an item of the sort, something always played at the back of her mind, making her feel uncertain about receiving the gift from her beloved boyfriend. It was a weird feeling she couldn't describe with words, and quite frankly, she had no intention of expressing them to Sasuke. Ever.

"Day after day after day..." she sighed to herself, trudging to her bed and flopping down face first. It was getting boring, but it was the only way she knew how to live. After all, her first attempt to explore outside the looming mansion didn't go well, what with Sasuke catching her before she was even ten metres away from the front door.

She could never forget that bloodthirsty look in his eye, that look of desperation drawn across his face. From the way he handled her to the way he spoke, it was quite clear that she'd upset him tremendously, and she didn't know why. But she knew better than to test his patience again. He'd only be so protective of her if there was something bad out there he didn't want her to see, right? It was better to be safe than sorry.

She began humming the forbidden tune to herself again, closing her eyes. For some reason, at the back of her mind, there was something she was missing. Something important. Something out of place.

And yet, she couldn't put a finger on it. Her eyes began to close, and slowly, she began drifting off to sleep...

She was outside.

Lying on the cool, green grass staring up at the heavenly blue skies, [Name] felt free, soaking in the brilliant sunlight. Beside her, she sensed the presence of someone close, someone she cared about. But this someone wasn't Sasuke.

"It's beautiful, isn't it, [Name]-chan?"

He was a bright and beaming young boy with a bubbly personality, with bright blond hair to match. His azure eyes twinkled with mischief as he looked upon [Name]'s face with compassion, a goofy grin plastered across his tanned visage.

"You know, as the busy human beings we are, I think that we take what we have for granted and never fully appreciate it all," said the blond as he returned to his lying position beside his friend. At twelve years of age, both friends were matured far beyond their years. What with one being orphaned from birth, and the other's family being separated from the after-affects of marriage complications and divorce, both had been exposed to how cruel the world could be at a young age.

[Name] nodded in agreement at her friend's wise words. True, there weren't many other days like this where she could just sit and not have to worry about the rest of the world.
