October the tenth was a day of mixed feelings for Naruto Uzumaki and Menma Namikaze. To them, it wasn't the day of their births, but the day that their parents passed away, leaving the two boys to fend for themselves.

However, this year wasn't the case, especially since [Name] was involved in both of their lives.

Having lived with the twins for nearly two years, [Name] had been the one to encourage them to turn this tradition of mourning into a day of celebration, telling them that their parents wouldn't have wanted their sons to let their lives all sad and forlorn. So, after taking them to the town temple in the morning to pray for their parents, [Name] took them on a detour around town before finally guiding the mutinous two home, promising them each their favourite dinners and cakes.

"SURPRISE!"

The [Surname] had been planning this for weeks; after getting closer to the twins, she wanted to do something different that would make their eighteenth birthdays memorable. She spared no expenses, and didn't hold back; she wanted today to be full of celebrations.

"Oi Menma, have you seen [Name]?" giggled a slightly intoxicated Naruto as he sat on the couch with Kiba Inuzuka, drunkenly exchanging recounts of fights that never happened. Menma shook his head at his brother.

Only three drinks and he's already tipsy, thought the Namikaze, rolling his eyes. Naruto hiccuped, and went back to bragging to Kiba about his non-existent fight with a black belt master of judo.

"So-" hic "-anyway-"

Menma, still shaking his head, made his way to the bathroom to take a leak. In all honesty, he didn't know [Name] was possible of achieving such a feat. Apparently, she had help from Hinata, Ino and Sakura with the preparations. The trio were responsible for setting up the house while she took him and Naruto on a road trip around Konoha. Just as he reached the bathroom door, Menma's ears perked up.

"... [Name]..." he heard a voice say, muffled. Menma's eyes widened as he realised who it belonged to: Sasuke. He turned around, facing the shut and locked door of [Name]'s bedroom. He walked forward and pressed his ear against the wood, drowning out the sounds of partygoers from down the hallway.

"... I'm warning you now, [Name]. Leave Naruto, or he dies."

Menma's jaw dropped.

What the fuck?!

Crouching down, Menma peered through the keyhole of [Name]'s door, just able to make out two figures on [Name]'s queen sized bed; one, lying face up on the mattress, and the other, on top of the figure on all fours. There was a hiccup from the person below, followed by a giggle.

Oh, don't tell me she's drunk too, thought Menma desperately, internally groaning with frustration. [Name] and Naruto were complete idiots.

"That's c- hic! Cu-u-ute, Sasu...ke..." gurgled [Name], hiccuping and poking the Uchiha in the chest. The Uchiha's scowl deepened, and he grabbed [Name]'s outstretched wrists, an animal-like growl escaping from his lips.

"Break up with Naruto and be with me, [Name]," he uttered in a soft, dangerous voice. "Be with me, or else I'll force you. That much I can swear."

[Name] giggled again.

"Aww, really? Sa-Sa-Sasuke- hic!"

"Say you'll do it, [Name]."

She giggled again, and poked her tongue at Sasuke.

"S-sure thing, Uchiha," she snorted, beginning to laugh.

"If you don't end your relationship, then I will."

Menma's eyes widened as he realised Sasuke was coming out of the room, and he instantly threw himself at the half open bathroom door.

"Argh..." he groaned loudly, falling face down and pretending to be nauseously drunk. He heard the click of [Name]'s bedroom door open behind him, and closed his eyes. He felt Sasuke's cold gaze sweep over him, before he ultimately decided that he wasn't a threat. Once Sasuke had vanished down the hallway, Menma was back on his feet. [Name] came staggering out of her bedroom, still giggling.

"[Name], did Sasuke... touch you?" asked the Namikaze, analysing [Name]. Her clothes were still on, so that must've counted for something. The drunk girl giggled yet again and shook her head, tipsy. Menma grabbed her by the shoulders to stop her from tumbling to the floor.

"No- hic! He just... warnted ter taaaaawk..." she said in a slurred voice, swaying uneasily from side to side. Menma frowned.

"[Name], I want you to tell Naruto," he said, anger beginning to grow against the Uchiha. [Name] giggled, and nodded like a little baby.

"I... will..." she said, right before her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Menma sighed as she became a crumpled heap in his arms.

"Dumbass," he muttered to himself, beginning to drag her back to the living room. By now, the only ones left were Kiba and Choji, who were guffawing with Naruto on the couch.

"H-Hey! [Name]... [Name]! Hey!" said a half asleep Naruto, lazily leaning forward and pointing at his knocked out girlfriend in Menma's arms.

"She's sleeping, idiot," scoffed the Namikaze twin, carefully placing [Name] on the armchair beside Naruto. The Uzumaki leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead, coughing as he leaned back into his couch.

"[Name]... thanks for... tha partaaaaaaay..." mumbled the blond, laying his head on the armrest of the couch and placing his legs across the Inuzuka and Akimichi boys.

Menma rolled his eyes yet again, unable to believe that out of all people, he had remained the sober one for the night.

It wasn't long before Naruto and his friends fell asleep.

Have fun with your hangover tomorrow, said Menma, shaking his head and making his way back to his room.

He was now going to be keeping a closer eye on Sasuke Uchiha.
