"Hey, look! Another room with another door, yay!" cheered Shikamaru sarcastically as Menma followed him into the dark room. The Nara flashed his light behind him, scanning the walls. When he saw a little switch, he internally sighed with relief as he made his way over.

"Thank god," he grumbled, reaching out and flicking the switch. The room was instantly bathed with light, and the two had to squint to adjust to the brightness. Switching off their phones, they exchanged glances at the new sight.

First off, it was completely different from the last room they had left. It was whitewashed, with clean, hospital like walls and a slightly dull but still clean marble floor. It wasn't too big; probably only about half the size of Sasuke's grand room. The lights were inset into the walls, although dust blurred the light. It was virtually empty, save for a large, rectangular box in the middle with a white sheet over it.

About two metres on the other side of the box was a staircase, which wound upwards to who knows where.

"Do we really want to check that out?" grumbled Shikamaru as Menma inched his way towards the object.

"Won't know until we try."

"Menma, I don't th-"

Before Shikamaru could end his sentence, the Namikaze had already grabbed ahold of the cloth with both hands and ripped it right off. The Nara gasped and faltered backwards as Menma turned around to see what the object was.

It was a plain white slab of what seemed to be marble as well, with a glass case serving as a lid. That was pretty much the only decent part about it.

Menma let out a scream as he jumped away from the case, his face a look of horror.

In the case, was none other than his brother, Naruto Uzumaki.

Two years after his disappearance- or his so called 'death'- here he was, lying underneath the home of Sasuke Uchiha, encrypted into a glass case.

His body was perfectly preserved, if not for the fact that his skin was deathly pale, and there were unusual wrinkles on his hands and face. His head was tilted back on a small, white pillow, his hands lying on his sides. His mouth was slightly ajar, as if he had been calling out for help.

For two years, Naruto Uzumaki had been dead underneath Sasuke Uchiha's care, preserved as a trophy for the Uchiha's triumph over his former best friend.

Menma was at a loss for words. That was his brother- his brother.

His brother. Dead. And lying in a glass case, as if for exhibit.

"THIS- THIS GUY IS DISGUSTING!" bellowed Menma, instantly reaching for the knife from his pocket. Tears began streaming down his face at the sight of his beloved brother.

NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING- NARUTO DESERVED BETTER THAN THIS!

"Menma-" Shikamaru tried to stop the Namikaze as he marched away from him, storming towards the door they had come from. But to both of their horror, the door had already been opened, and an all too familiar figure had stepped in.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"

Menma snarled and lunged for the Uchiha, wielding the knife in his hand.

"YOU!"
