"Boss, we need you here for a bit longer."

Sasuke, who had been getting ready to leave the office, grimaced as a certain man named Shikamaru Nara stood at his door holding a large stack of papers.

"Can't it wait until tomorrow?" snapped the Uchiha, angrily locking the clasp on his brief case. In all honesty, Sasuke just wanted to get home so he could be with [Name]. For him, every second away from her was excruciatingly painful, and the fact that he had to keep her hidden made it hurt even more.

When he left his home, he was constantly angry.

Angry, because all the people that surrounded him were idiots.

Angry, because those people weren't [Name].

[Name] was the only one who understood him.

[Name] was the only one that mattered.

[Name], and [Name] only.

Shikamaru sighed as he leaned against the frame of the door.

"We have to get them sent out by ten tonight," said the Nara, flipping through the pages in his hands. "Request of the Senju Corp themselves."

Sasuke stomped over to Shikamaru and crossly snatched the papers from him, eyes scanning the first page. Yup. Just more tedious paperwork.

"I have places to be!" scowled the Uchiha, storming back over to his desk and slamming the papers down onto his desk. Shikamaru raised an eyebrow.

"Really?" he asked in a pessimistic voice. Sasuke violently pulled out a pen from his pen holder and pushed down on it with an unnecessary force, beginning to read and scribble his signature on the paper.

"It's called home," snapped Sasuke, brow furrowed with irritation as he leafed through the second page. He groaned with frustration as he saw the amount of reading he'd have to do. Shikamaru straightened up, and turned to walk away.

"Oh- hey, Sakura." The Haruno, who was stopping by as per usual to bid her boss a good night, bumped into Shikamaru. She grinned at him from underneath her light pink bangs.

"Oh, hey Shika," she beamed. "Knock knock!"

"Shikamaru! You're not going anywhere until I'm done with these papers!" barked Sasuke from his desk, completely ignoring Sakura. Shikamaru threw his head back in a silent groan.

"What's this?" asked Sakura, standing beside Shikamaru. He raised an eyebrow at her.

"More paperwork from the Senju Corporation," he said passively, waving a hand. "Boss's pissed that I gave him the bad news, so I have to stay back now."

The Haruno squealed and clasped her hands together.

"I can stay instead of Shikamaru!" she exclaimed pushing past said man and inviting herself into Sasuke's office. Their boss raised his head, mouth opening to say something.

"Sh-"

"Thanks Sakura, bye boss, I love you!" said Shikamaru, turning on his heel and strutting off before Sasuke could stop him any longer. As he walked away, he heard the sound of Sasuke's office door closing. Once he was well out of earshot and the building, the Nara pulled out his phone and dialled a number.

"Menma, where are you now?" he asked in a low voice, making his way to the car park. Night had fallen; it was nearly nine o'clock now, and the sky was starless.

"At the front gate," came the voice of the Namikaze, crackly and distant. "Looks like he's got some good security set up. I need you here, Nara."

Shikamaru glanced at his watch. Judging by how angry Sasuke was at having to stay back and complete all his extra work, he wouldn't put it past him to get it done in under half an hour.

"I'll be there soon," said Shikamaru, reaching his car. "We have to be quick."

Unlocking the front door, Shikamaru quickly slid into the driver's seat and effortlessly switched on the ignition. They didn't have any time to spare; Sasuke could be there at any second.
