An outline in the distance...

Is it?
Could it be?
Emma.I run up the hill, with my heart in my throat and run to the outline.

Emma.
I drop to the ground in exhaustion and relief next to her as I cradle her body in my arms. Her long gorgeous blonde hair is swept along her arms, messy and tangled, distraught from everything.

I can't hear anything.
Not even one of her shallow breaths.

I'm too late.
That's it.
Just because I didn't pay any attention to her, I didn't help her.
And now she's gone.
