Extreme Rules
Stephanie and AJ are backstage warming up for their match that starts right after the current match. They are interrupted by Mark.
"Alright, girls I know you two have been waiting for this one. Stephanie, I'm sorry but we're gonna give AJ the title match opportunity against Kaitlyn."
Stephanie fakes a smile, "Oh o-okay."
"It's just that AJ has been getting a lot more attention from the WWE Universe."
"No, I understand. I'm okay with it."
The truth was she really wasn't okay with it since she's been there a little longer than AJ and has done everything the WWE has asked from her. All she asks in return is at least a championship match opportunity. They brought her into the WWE at a young age to make her the face of this generations divas division and to be the best she can be but how can she do that when they keep pulling her back to the end of the line.
After the match Stephanie prepares to film her segment with John Cena. She has a look of disappointment on her face, which John notices.
"Hey, you alright Steph?" He asks nudging her shoulder.
"To be honest with you John, no I'm not. I work so hard everyday to make myself and the other divas look good out there by really selling my hits and I'm still waiting for my chance."
"It will come, you just have to be patient with the writers. They know you're good, they just want to make sure you get the right championship moment for you."
"I've been patient for five years and I've never asked for anything, plus I don't want to start now but I just want my chance sooner rather than later."
"Do you want me to talk to Vince about it?"
She shakes her head, "No, I don't want to whine for it. I want to earn it and really get it. I'm tired of hearing 'oh good work Skye, keep it up and there might be a divas championship opportunity for you' and it never happens."
"Steph-"
"Don't worry about it, John. It's not your problem anyways."
Stephanie ends the conversation as they continue on to business and tape their aftermath segment.
Monday Night Raw
Stephanie is pacing back-and-forth getting ready to make her speech about the loss she had to AJ last night. Now that storyline will cause her to wait until the next Wrestlemania to get a title shot. At least she knows where that opportunity stands with her.
"...come Wrestlemania 30 I will fight to win the Diva's Championship and when I win it..." She whispers to herself until she feels a presence near and watching her.
She looks over her shoulder to see Dean, in his Shield attire ready to compete, walk towards her, "Practicing your excuse for losing last night?"
"No, it's your eulogy. Just in case."
He chuckles, "Yeah someone's gonna have to put my head through bricks for that to happen."
"What do you want Dean?"
"Just came by to let you know that we're gonna be seeing a lot of each other tonight."
"What are you talking about?"
"Well when AJ interrupts your little heartfelt speech, Big E is gonna put his hands on you so being the gentlemen that we are, the Shield is gonna help you out."
"Oh really and why would you do that?"
He shrugs his shoulders, "Asks the writers, we just follow the story remember."
"The writers had AJ kiss Kane so I guess you being in the same ring as me isn't that bad."
Once the segment goes down and Stephanie is taken down by AJ with a spinning kick she gets picked up by Big E. She's playing dead when she hears the Shield's music begin to play. That's where Big E just drops Stephanie hard on the mat. She sells it as best she can until she feels the mat bounce, when the Shield enter, as she slowly gets to her feet. She reaches for the ropes to help her up but nearly freezes when she feels arms wrapping around her. Looking down at the hands and by the tape around the palms she knows who's holding her up.
"What the hell is Ambrose doing?" She thinks to herself, "He's just supposed to help me with the fighting not touching me and like this. I can feel his chest against my back."
Stephanie acts surprised to see the trio and immediately leaves. She has a look of confusion on her face, which is real, when she look back in the ring passed Roman and Seth at Dean.
After the show, Stephanie puts her luggage in the back of the rental car that she shares with AJ. She spots Roman and Seth getting into their car and Dean shoving his backpack in the back from across the parking lot. She shuts the trunk of the car and heads over to him.
"Hey," She calls out to him. He pops his head from the trunk of the car. "What happend earlier tonight?"
Dean takes off the backpack straps from his broad shoulders, "What happened with what?"
"Oh so you touch girls like that often?"
"On a good day," he smirks , "Alright, it just looked like you needed the help getting up."
She scoffs, "Yeah, it's called selling it maybe you should take note."
Dean closes the trunk of the car. "You might not know this but there are some WWE fans that think we make a good couple. I was just giving them what they want."
"Right and what was with you guys watching my match?"
"Mark, told us to go out there to build the storyline."
"Hmm, maybe I should have a talk with Mark about this whole 'thing' we're building."
Dean smiles saying nothing which makes Stephanie a little uncomfortable so she heads back to her rental car where AJ is waiting in the driver seat.
