“Oh come on, Dolph.” Stephanie follows Dolph Ziggler down the hallway. “I was just joking about your hair. You’re supposed to be a comedian yourself why can’t you take a joke.”

“It’s not that I don’t want to go with you, it’s just I have interviews and promotions to go to for Summerslam. Wait, what joke about my hair?”

She nervously laughs, “What joke about your hair? Who's making fun of your golding locks?”

Dolph rolls his eyes and walks off towards the locker rooms leaving Stephanie behind to think. Over the past week she’s been asking around for anyone who would go with her but most of the guys are either busy or have to do stuff for Summerslam, which is in the same week. She’s asked John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, Fandango, even Hornswaggle is busy.

“Hey Stephanie,” the producer calls her, “the guys are waiting to film your segment.”

Stephanie meets up with the guys to do their segment where she interrupts Alissa’s return speech to go after AJ for pushing them off a ladder. When she meets up with the guys of the Shield, minus Dean Ambrose who is on his way, they notice her gloomy attitude.

“You alright, Steph. You look a little down.” Seth puts his arm around her shoulder to give her a side hug.

“No, I’m such a procrastinator,” she starts slapping her forehead.

“What did you hold off?” Roman asks while strapping on his wristbands.

“My friend from high school is getting married in two weeks and she wants me to bring a date. Her wedding is the Saturday before Summerslam, which I will make it back in time for, and everyone I’ve asked has media stuff to do that weekend.”

“Do you really have to bring a date?” Seth asks.

“Not really, but there’s some familiar faces that will be there and that I’m not all that friendly with. It’s like a ten year reunion that when you show up without a date you’re doing something wrong with your love life.”

Seth and Roman make scared faces at the perspective.

“I’m sorry, baby girl. Seth and I have our own media stuff to do.”

“Yeah, if we were free we would definitely help you out and be your date.”

She shrugs her shoulders in the anticipation of having to face some mean girls in two weeks.

Dean shows up overhearing the last bit of the conversation, “Who needs a date?”

“Stephanie does,” Seth explains, “for a friend’s wedding in a few weeks.”

He shrugs his shoulders, “I’ll go with you, if you want.”

“Really,” she raises her eyebrows him surprise. “You’d be my date?”

“Yeah, I’m free and besides shaking hands and kissing babies has never been my strongest suit, obviously.”

“Are you sure you wanna spend a day with me at a wedding?”

He tilts his head, “I’ve been through worse.”

Stephanie fakes a smile, “Hilarious,”

After weeks of searching she somehow has gotten Dean Ambrose to be her date. She feels thrilled and up for the challenge but at the same time she doesn’t know what it will be like when it’s just the two of them for basically 48 hours.
