Chapter Nine
Their plane had just crashed down into an unknown place. Only two people had survived the tragic accident. Cell phone reception was extremely bad here, so they couldn’t call for help. They were on an island, huge, which was a mountain thousands of feet tall. Deciding the best option they had was to climb to the top - to hopefully get some reception - the two started a journey up the mountain.
About halfway up, Envy stops and turns around. “I can’t go any further, I’m freezing.” All around them, the mountain was covered in ice and snow.
“We’re halfway there, we can’t stop now. Don’t you want to see your parents again?”
Envy sighed and said, “I do... It’s just sooooooo cold!”
“Well stop complaining, and let’s get to the top. You’re wearing a jacket, so you won’t die.” Even in Envy’s dream, Hesh was an apple-hole.
The mountain wasn’t very steep, it was actually fairly flat, rising slowly. Occasionally there was a ledge they had to climb up to get higher, but they had to be careful, everything was iced over. Snow was blowing everywhere, but it wasn’t so much so that vision became obscured.
Up ahead, there was another ledge, and Hesh helped Envy go up first. Once he climbed up, he turned around, reached his hand down, and yelled, “Quick Hesh! Grab my hand! I don’t what it is, but something is running at you from behind!”
Hesh turned around, and seeing what he saw, he yelled in fear. “Help me up!”
“That’s what I’m trying to do! Grab my hand!” Hesh grabs his hand and is pulled up onto the ledge.
Under the ledge were six creatures, that all resembled velociraptors. Only, they each had a set of small wings on their back that looked too small to help them fly. They were fairly confident the creatures weren’t dinosaurs, so they could only assume they were some sort of dragon.
“Whatever they are, looks like they can’t get up here,” Hesh says. He picks up a frozen rock and pelts it at one of the dragons, which responds with a deafening roar.
“Yea, Hesh. Let’s just try to make them, mad, because it is the smartest thing to do.”
“No one asked for your opinion, freshie.” Walking over to a bigger rock, one that requires two hands to lift, Hesh says, “Watch this.” He picks the rock up with both hands, walks over to the ledge, and tosses it onto the closest dragon.
It lets out another roar, but this time it jumps up and snaps at Hesh, razor sharp teeth ready to slice something. They were too big to jump up the ledge, they didn’t have arms long enough to climb, and their wings proved useless. Envy and Hesh were only able to get up from teamwork.
“You missed me you stupid creature.”
“Hesh, quit. We should get moving before they find a way up here,” Envy says, always being the smart one.
They continued walking up the mountain, and about five minutes into it, Hesh decides to run. He slips on the ice and falls, his body sliding along the path they’re on for ten feet and colliding with one of the few trees. “Ha-ha.”
“Did you just laugh at me?” Standing up, Hesh looks furious. Envy didn’t mean to laugh, he couldn’t help it, it was so funny. “Look, punk. Let’s go. We can fight right now. I’ll beat you to a pulp and leave you to freeze to death.”
Hesh starts walking towards Envy, and in the distance there’s a roar from one of the dragons they saw earlier. Turning towards the origin of the noise, they see the pack has made its way up the ledge, charging right at them. The two teenagers had to think of something, and they had to think of that something fast.
