I am Just an ordinary girl or is that too typical? Of course with every ordinary girl comes a secret lying inside, waiting to be found... But if anyone finds this secret my whole life could be turned upside down.
Unsure of where or who to turn to...
6 hours had passed and it was 8:30. Thomas said we had to start moving as it would be safer to travel at night so we wouldn't be seen. He told me we were heading nine miles south to see some of his friends. I don't know why I trusted him, just something about him seemed familiar. Maybe because he was special like me or my judgement was really off that day, who knows?
I could tell Arina was getting tired as her tiny, black eyes were struggling to stay open. I took her from my shoulder and carefully placed her into my pocket, where it was warm. Thomas watched me put her in and smiled at me. "What?" I whispered with a small chuckle.
"Nothing, your just so gentle to that bird." He said turning his head in the direction we were heading. I smiled as I did the same, the forest was silent like the calm after a storm. My eyes searched the forest's roof and my eyes began to feel heavy and hard to keep them open. From the looks of it, Thomas was used to this, his eyes wide open but calmness spread across his face. Arina arised from my pocket and flew up, to the trees, which was odd but I just shrugged it off.
Just as my eyes closed for a split second, I low growl came from the mist of tall trees that stood in front of us. A figure appeared from behind a large tree.
It's low growl was consistent as it began to come closer into view. It walked on all fours and it was furry with scars scattered over its back. It's teeth glistening in the moon light from the drool hanging from its mouth. Its paws lightly hit the ground, making almost no noise. Thomas and I had both stopped dead in our tracks, glaring at the menacing wolf that began to circle us. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" It's low growl turned into words that brought chills up my spine. Thomas's face turned from fear to anger as the beast sniggered to itself.
"What do you want, Diesel?" The anger in Thomas's voice was intimidating. "Oh Thomas, I didn't see you there" the wolf's voice echoed quietly through the night. They glared at each other, the wolf's face almost smirking at Thomas, who didn't take his wide brown eyes off him. "I didn't think you would have Ella here" his cunning voice said. Thomas had no reply. Who was this, how did he know Thomas and how did he know me?
I wanted to say something but I didn't know what and Thomas still hadn't said anything. Why didn't he use his powers or something? I knew if he wasn't going to, I would. "Look Tom, just let me have the girl and everything will be fine" he tried to persuade him with a wide grin. Once again, Thomas said nothing. adrenaline started to pump through my vanes, worried about Thomas and why he didn't say anything. The wolf took it into his own hands to come closer... towards me. "Stop!" Thomas finally yelled, ending the silence.
The wolf stopped, his body Jerking a little, he began to change... into a human. The hair all over him retracted into skin. His claws turned to fingers and in seconds he stood a couple of feet from us standing on two feet. Expecting no clothes to be on him, he wore a suit that matched his fur colour and a white shirt underneath it. Still with a small smile on his face, he came over to me, inspecting me. "Yes, definitely you have a lot of power in that body of yours" he said looking from my feet to my head. My eyes widened as I became more uncomfortable. Creep!
"Stop it now Diesel!" Thomas warmed once more, seeing the fear in my face. "So I take it you don't want to do it the easy way, ay... BROTHER!" Diesel's voice, become inpatient. Thomas's expression changed from anger to disappointment. "Your not my brother, never have been" Thomas fought back. "Oh but we are" He said beginning to get closer to me. "Now,now brother you don't want her getting hurt, do you?" He questioned with one eyebrow raised. Before I knew it, his hands were wrapped around me, constricting me like a python. His front canines threatening to pierce into my neck, again, sending shivers up my body. Thomas's face was clear, with fear and anger, unable to do anything.
My instincts told me to wait for the right moment to use my powers and catching him off guard. But he knows about my powers, he will see it coming. I ignored my thoughts, having hope that I would get out of this predicament. Maybe I thought he was stupid or something. I flexed my fingers to create an orb to shoot at the right time. Thomas tried to come close but as he did, a sharp pain hit my neck, knowing it was Diesel and I let out a little wimpier. Thomas stood back and the pressure on my neck loosened slightly, then he let go.
"I told you I would" Diesel warned once more, looking at Thomas and then to me. I knew then it was nearly time, Diesel looked away at Thomas again and I striked. I knocked him down towards Thomas almost hitting him. My shock froze me after what I had just done. "Get our of here now!" Thomas yelled as he jumped on top of Diesel. "No I can't leave y..." I was cut off by Diesel moaning from the pain and Thomas just telling me to run. "I'll find you, don't worry" He shouted trying to tame his brother.
I began to run and I heard a faint voice from Diesel: "they won't be far, they will catch yo..." before he could finish I heard the sound of a punch and everything went silent. I'm on my own now. And who did he mean by "they"?
