first date.

Chapter 6

It had been a pretty crazy week at school. I still couldn't forgive Brittney for trying to steal Zayn away from me, so nothing had changed there. Zayn and I had become the new "it couple". And after Zayn's audition, it seemed like everybody had come up to congratulate him. Luckily it was Friday today, so maybe things would quiet down by next week.

Me and Zayn were hanging out down by the lake in back of my house, lying on the dock. I'm leaning back into his chest, and for the moment, life is perfect. I feel safe, protected. Loved. "You know what we should do?" Zayn asks me.

"What?" I tilt my head back to look at him.

'We should go out to dinner." I smile at the idea.

"Okay" I smile. "Where should we eat?" There's a few restaraunts in town, so we could go anywhere really.

"Why not Maggie's?" he suggests. Maggie's is about 10 minutes away from where we live, and it's kind of fancy. I've gone there a few times before.

"Sounds great," I say. "Give me an hour to get ready?"

"See you then!" We get up and Zayn walks home, taking a trail that we made between our houses a year or so ago.

I go up to my room, and open up my closet. I wear a cute strapless purple dress, that cuts off at about my knees. I pair it with a pair of girly sandals, and a purple purse. I decide to side-braid my hair. While I do this, I note I should probably get it cut soon. It's down to my waist. I don't put on much makeup, just a light color lipgloss.

By the time an hour's up, I'm ready to go. We have a great time at dinner. Zayn, ever the gentleman, walked me to my doorstep when we got home, and kissed me goodnight.

I went inside and went upstairs, changed into pyjamas. I called Shay and told her all about our date.  "So, is Brittney still after Zayn?" I ask her after we're done talking about the date. I have to know, and if Brittney would tell anybody, it would be Shay.

"I don't know. She seemed to back off, but my bet is that she's got something else planned in that sneaky little head of hers. I'd watch out."

I nod in agreement, even though I know Shay can't see me. "Yeah. Alright, well I'm gunna go. See you."
