-Moonwatcher-

Moon thought she knew pain. But this made her rethink what pain meant for her.

Her head hurt, her wings hurt, everything hurt.  She got up and looked around the room she was in.

A big, spacious room. The walls had many silver moon-shaped mosaics that glowed brightly. The ceiling was so high that Moon couldn't see the top. She couldn't hear anything. It was as if time had stopped. It was also peaceful and weird at the same time.

There was no window, but the brightness felt like sun on her scales. Moon was still shivering even if it was warm. Something wasn't right. Something was wrong.

"Hey," a voice called.

Moon turned. "Mom?"

How was her mom here? What's happening to her brain?

"Moon, you know your powers turned you into a monster, I shouldn't have let you live." her mom continued reaching for her cheek.

"My own blood is a monster," Secretkeeper whispered loudly as is she wanted Moon to hear her.

"How could I have tried to get myself killed because of a monster?" she proceded touching her daughter's cheek.

"Morrowseer would have been devasted, for being the father of such monster"  Secretkeeper mumbled a bit louder. Eyeing Moon with a distant, unloving stare.

"...mom?" Moon replied hurt. She knew her mother disliked her mindreading powers, but hating her? This was different. This wasn't her mother.

"Moon," another voice said.

She turned to see her icewing friend.

"Winter?" she exclaimed surprised.

She turned back to her mother, but she wasn't there. Her mother had vanished. Vanished into thin air.

"Winter where is everyone?" Moon asked still not over what happened before with her mother.

"You are a monster! As bad as Darkstalker!" Winter cried out in her face.

"W...what? Winter" Moon stuttered a little scared.

"You are a mindreading freak" he spat angrily.

"Winter?" Moon asked once again.

"Mindreading freak," he said again echoing his words.

"W...w...winter? W...what?" Moon asked backing away to the wall.

"You are a monster," the icewing screamed in her face.

Moon knew Winter didn't have any soft spot for nightwings, but she thought she was something special to Winter. A friend.

"Moon?" another voice said from behind her. She turned to the sound.

"Kinkajou? How?" she said seeing her best friend.

"You aren't anything for me, you're a monster." her rainwing friend said.

"N...no. I...I'm...I am not a monster!" she replied suddenly realizing how hurting words could be.

"Yes, you are! You are not worthy of my friendship!" she screamed making Moon seem like a monster.

"Ahem!" someone interrupted. Moon has never been so happy to be interrupted in a conversation with Kinkajou.

"Qibli!" she cried out rushing to him and jumping into his arms. She hugged him and started crying in his shoulder.

At this point, she was more hurt than trying to figure out what's happening.

Qibli didn't hug her back, he pushed her away.

"What are you doing monster? Don't touch me!" he growled at her, raising his tail.

"W...what?" Moon muttered shocked.

"You are a liar, a monster, a freak, a nothing!" her boyfriend screamed at her. Moon didn't know what to do. Being called a monster by someone who meant so much to her.

"Qibli?" Moon asked again, tears running down her cheeks.

"I don't love you. I never did," he said calmly, but it hurt worst than anything that has happened to her.

"I never loved you," Qibli said again, piercing Moon's heart.
