Standing in front of the blue doors, like I had always did since I was 8 years old...
My guardian had told me that I should do my job as a teacher... I ignored him because I knew it was time for a newcomer to come to this tower.
Then I felt my guardian tap my shoulder.
I looked at him as he handed me a letter.
"What's this?" I asked him.
"You received this from the Master of the tower." He said as I took the letter.
The Master... I never met the person... just heard how he was a legend of this tower.
In fact... the whole glowing part of this tower... this was the Master's doing. There's a room just before the very top that has stars on the ceiling, also the Master's doing. Everything in this tower was magic and that made it unique... and well, impossible.
I sort of gotten used to the whole tower, since I grew up here since I stumbled into this tower.
I also learn that we only can see the colors blue, yellow and white in this tower. Black was forbidden because of the darkness. Gray was hard to see. We were never allow to see colors of humans... because of something about it being forbidden due to the darkness.
I opened the letter when my mind went back to what my guardian said. "So... another job for me." I whispered.
The Master only sent letters to me. before. Once to welcome me... who does that? To take me away from real family? It's not fair.
Another time, to tell me that I was to be the youngest teacher of this tower. I didn't want this. I wanted more so I could go out there and find my family.
I read the letter and read the words...
"Dear Mr. Kichen,
You will meet somebody special soon. I want you to take her to the room of monitors... show her the task. That's all you gotten do. Keep an eye on her, because you can see her soon.
Thanks!
The Master"
"Ali?" I heard my guardian... and I looked at him... He was pointing at the door.
A girl came through the doors. She had been breathing hard and I walked towards her slowly...
"Welcome," I started as I stood before her...
I saw her bewildered eyes as she look at me. She backed away from me... She tried to reach for the doors but I knew it would not open for her... it never did for me.
She gave in... and I reached for her shoulder."Where am I?" She finally asked me.
"The tower. You were chosen." I told her.
After a moment, she processed all of this and nodded slowly. It didn't really take that long for her to understand what was going on.
This girl... she was indeed special like the Master had written.
"Shall I... lead you to the Investigator's room?" I finally asked her after a while.
She looked at me and looked around. She seen the people moving about. She was thinking and knew right away...
"Yes." She said.
So I lead the way up the stairs... She gasped. "Blue stairs!"
And I wonder... how does a girl accept her fate but not the place around her. I was envy of her actions.
"Come on..." I stopped and look behind me... not knowing her name...
"Hana... Hana Delphi." She said with a small smile.
And I realize that this girl was not only special... but a beautiful girl who was not far from my age... she could be a year older... who knew... but I shook my head and waited by the room with all the monitors...
"Computers?" She asked as she walked up to one of the monitors.
"Yes... they are for the Investigators..." I said looking away from her.
She sat down at the chairs and stared at the keyboard below her.
"Tell me... how do you work this?" She asked as she pressed a button.
I walked over to her and explained how she was to watch the darkness patterns on the monitors... and she can summon a light to explore all the new activities in the darkness. She seemed to pick up really easy and nodded.
Once I knew she was doing a good job, I began to walk away and noticed that she was looking at one of the blue windows... staring outside.
"Miss Delphi?" I started but she ignored me... so I just left her there.
Going down the stairs... when I was met up with my guardian with another letter... Not again, I had thought in my head.
I didn't open the letter this time because my mind wandered away about this girl... "Hana..." I whispered her name.
Then I remembered... I didn't give her my name... Maybe another time. I walked to my small room and sat down... laying the letter down beside me.
I really do envy the Master... This girl... I want... more... my mind began to wander... More power.
