After a few days of walking, we had sat down on the cold ground. Colorless ground. It's almost seemed like the colors were all washed out around me. It was eerie.

My master was watching me look around, then she stood up slowly, "I guess it's time we start learning about how to use dark powers." She said as she patted at her leg then raised her up to the sky...

I saw a small flash of light in the sky and noticed she had summoned something. I watched them fall to the ground and jumped up when they finally landed.

"What are these?!" I shouted when I noticed they were full of white light.

"Previum..." She mumbled to me as she lowered her hand. "They are creatures of light."

"Light?" I asked confused as I backed away slowly when the creatures came closer to me.

"In order to use darkness, you must destroy light." My master said as she held her arm at me... "Now concentrate... on any weapon you want... then try to summon it."

I looked at her, "No..." I mumbled.

The creatures... no... these Previums were trying to get closer to me. I whimpered in fear of these creatures.

My master disappeared and stood behind me, she grabbed my right shoulder and touched my arm. "You can do it."

I started to feel calm with her close to me... then I nodded slowly. I closed my eyes and held out my hand... and summoned a black sword. I opened my eyes and saw...

I felt the cool hilt in my hand and felt that it was not as heavy than I thought.

My master let go of my shoulder and moved back, "Now swing at these Previums."

I held up the sword and moved to them and swung at them with the sword.

I watched as something black surrounded them as I hit them with the sword.

Finally, after a moment, I fell backwards, my sword disappearing in the air around this black thing.

"What is that black... thing?" I asked my Master who had been sitting and watching me.

"That is your aura." She answered softly as she was in awe at me.

"Black... aura." I whispered as I looked at my right hand. It didn't felt wrong or anything.

My Master soon sat beside me and sighed lightly.

"I'm glad the darkness is not evil." She whispered as she looked at the blank sky above.

"Darkness is not... evil?" I repeated her words.

She nodded but never looked away from the sky.

"A legend... where both darkness and light were combined as one. It was forbidden for so long..." She began talking without moving away. "There was a tower... made with such a thing side... so people of light can live out of the way of the darkness. Until one guy decided that darkness should live in the tower too." She whispered as if she was remembering something.

"And?" I pushed on.

A pause, then she looked at me. "That's where stars come from... from without the darkness." She said with a smile.

"That's silly, we all know how the stars are made." I laughed a bit but noticed she was not laughing.

"Not these stars." She mumbled softly but enough for me to hear.

And so we rested for the rest of the time. For soon, I knew my connection would be coming.

I stared at the silver light and my mind began to worry... but with my Master around, I think I will be okay.

At least, I hoped she will be here forever.
