Sierra was in her room when she woke up. All her friends around her. She smiled as she looked around and saw Lindsay. She laid next to her, close enough to be touching. Sierra reached out to touch her hand, to regain some normal feeling.

'If I hold her hand,' Sierra thought, 'It'll be like it never happened.'

She grabbed Lindsay's index finger and looped it around her own. Both of their casts made it nearly impossible to hold hands. Lindsay looked over and saw Sierra smiling at her with tears in her eyes. Everyone was much more spread out after they noticed Sierra was awake.

"How're you feeling?" Ashton worried as he held her free hand.

Sierra smiled, "All things considered, I feel amazing." She was crying, but her smile was shined brighter than anything else in the world.

Everyone was so happy to have them back.

The next morning, everyone returned to the hospital, minus Savana and Michael. Niall sat with Lindsay and Ashton sat with Sierra, conversing about how the wedding looked and how it would've gone. It made the girls so much happier.

Around an hour later, Savana and Michael walked in. They were smiling as they held hands, "I know yesterday wasn't an ideal day, but we wanted to give you guys something." Savana said as she pulled two chairs over for her and Michael in the middle of the room. "I remember when Michael and I first danced together. It was a night in September after school had started, and he played my favorite song and I sang. I played it on my phone and we danced together. We told each other that we loved one another, and we all know how the next day played out."

"Wait," Sierra smiled, "First, where's your child?"

Michael positioned his guitar, "Liam offered to take care of her while we visited."

Savana held her hands up, "Back to what I was saying, we thought the song applied to this situation, and to all of us. We're all family now. So we wanted to share it with you."

Everyone listened intently as Michael started playing. Savana smiled at him.

Sometimes I think about the ones that we've replaced
All the millions underneath the burnt and waste
And I get sad because of course we'll be the same
All of history collapsing in its wake

The others looked at each other, confused. How did this apply, exactly?

Maybe it's enough that I have laid here
Maybe it's enough that I have known inside my head, and
Maybe it's enough to know that we were here together
And that we are the ones
We are the ones
We are the ones for now

Savana noticed the other two couples getting closer to one another and smiled at them. She couldn't hold Michael's hand, but she set her hand on his thigh and squeezed.

I heard that someday when they look up at the night
They'll see nothing but a black and starless sky
And they'll tell stories of some old and callow time
Claiming spectacles of brilliant burning lights

She went into the chorus once more, and looked around at her friends. She saw Lindsay and Sierra, and felt the love between the three of them There's no way they would ever be rid of one another. They were connected at each hip. They were sisters.

So maybe this is what it takes to realize
I am grateful just that I have been alive
And I'll be happy if I look back on my life
Been a sister, been a mother, been a wife

She sang 'sister' and looked at her best friends, but as she sang 'mother,' she rubbed her stomach and smiled at Michael. Lindsay shot up as everyone's eyes widened. They let her finish. They saw the look in Savana's eyes.

Maybe it's enough that I have laid here

She leaned her head onto Michael's shoulder and thought about their relationship. How much they had been through and how much they have to look forward to.

Maybe it's enough that I have known inside my head, and

Lindsay looked to Niall and kissed his forehead with a smile. He smiled and looked up at her with admiration. They knew what they had to look forward to.

Maybe it's enough to know that we were here together

Ashton tapped Sierra's hand and she smiled at him. She thought about what the future had in store for them. He thought about marrying her on the spot.

And that we are the ones

Everyone looked at one another and smiled. They all knew that their lives were so intertwined with one another and they were okay with that. In fact, they wouldn't choose to have it another way.

We are the ones

Michael stopped playing and everyone thought, 'Everything's going to be alright.'

We are the ones for now.
