Lindsay was so excited for her date. She brought Savana and Sierra into the room to help her decide an outfit. Sierra sat on the edge of her bed, excited for Lindsay while Savana laid in bed, staring at her twitter feedhole sucking on a lollipop.
"It was amazing, guys." Lindsay reminisced on Niall's date proposal. "I've never had that happen to me before, and I can't believe it was me. I'm so.. AH!" She quietly shouted.
"I'd go with the light blue cold-shoulder bell sleeve top with the grey jeans and," Savana looked up, thinking, "Your white strappy sandal heels." She smiled, nodding. Lindsay thought about it, pulling out the outfit quickly.
"Makeup?" Lindsay smiled, turning to Savana.
"Uh," Savana turned her phone sideways, "Neutral look with those really pretty lashes you usually wear in your videos." She smiled widely.
"That would look amazing!" Sierra pointed at Savana and got excited. "Linds, you're going on a date with one of your favorite band members. How do you feel?"
Lindsay's smile fell, "Like it's a joke." She plopped down on her bed. "I've been asked out as a joke before. It's made me feel like hell."
Savana made grunting noises as she stood up, "I'll be back." She smiled evilly as she opened the door.
"Wait, where are you going?" Lindsay shouted.
"Getting reassurance." Savana hurriedly shut the door and walked down the hall towards the living room. She eyed Niall from the hall, "Hey, Ni, could I see you for a moment?" She smiled kindly.
"Yeah, sure." He spoke with excitement. He followed her down the hall into his room. "What's up?"
"This better not be a fucking joke on her." Savana said, "She's so fucking excited for this date and I will not have her heart be broken by a famous moron who forever ruined a chance with a girl who has wanted nothing more than for tonight to happen. If anything, and I mean anything happens to her, you'll wish you were dead."
A worried expression crossed Niall's face, "I swear it's not a joke. I really want-"
"She's worried that it is. I swear to God, Niall. I don't care that you're famous. I will publicize your murder myself." Savana stepped up to him, "It's happened to her before, and I will fight to the death to make sure it doesn't happen again, understand?"
"Y-yeah." Niall whispered, feeling that she wasn't kidding.
Savana backed up, "Good. Now, get an outfit ready. She's already got her's laid out and makeup prepped." She walked out slowly and turned towards the girls room. Niall sat for a moment in sunned silence when his phone buzzed with a text. He was nervous to read it. It was from Savana and all it had was a knife emoji.
"Aye, mate. What's going on?" Luke smiled, taking note of Niall's expression, "Woah, What's up, man? You look like you've just seen a ghost."
"Well, she's as pale as one. Savana just threatened that if I hurt Lindsay in any way, shape or form, she'll kill me. Before you say anything, yes, she was being very serious." Niall rubbed his eyes harshly.
Luke shrugged, "That's easy. Show Lindsay the absolute time of her life. Show her you want to be on that date with her specifically. Don't rush anything. She'll love it."
Niall looked at him and nodded as they both heard Savana's music start blasting in the back room.
Later that night, Lindsay was finishing her makeup as Savana walked into the room in sweats and one of Calum's jackets, "Hey, Sav, isn't that-?"
"Yeah," Savana smiled, "I just pulled out of the laundry and put it on. Sierra, do you want to join Mike, Ash, Liam and I for movie night? We figured we'd celebrate the first day of classes and since none of us had plans, we were going to browse through Hulu and Netflix."
Sierra shrugged, "Sounds fun, sure." Savana's eyes filled with relief.
"Oh, thank, God. I was so hoping you would because I was going to get all close to Mikey and shit, but I didn't want to do it if I was the only girl there. Should I tonight? I mean, Lindsay's probably going to get in Niall's pants. I just need help, Sierra, please!" Savana begged and whined as she worried about the night.
Lindsay smiled, "Just go for it, Sav. There's no way that he doesn't like you. I mean, he walked in on you in the shower, and, I've seen you in just a sports bra and shorts, boys like what you have."
"Okay, but boys also like blonde hair and blue eyes. Naturally, I have brown hair and green eyes. I'm quite literally the opposite of you." Savana slouched into a cross-legged position on the floor, "And you're pretty." She pouted while drawing patterns on the carpet.
Sierra twisted her body to rub Savana's back, "You're pretty, too, Savana. I saw a post online and it sums you two up perfectly: Lindsay is flowers and you're Christmas lights. Both pretty in their own way."
"Yeah, Savana," Lindsay spoke as she applied her blush, "And you never know, Mike could ask you on a date when you two are snuggling tonight." She swiveled in her vanity chair and smirked.
"I'm going to help pick movies out, asshole." Savana smiled playfully as she walked out the door, "Thank you guys."
Sierra and Lindsay looked at one another confused, "What for?"
"Well," Savana hesitated, "I don't think I've ever had friends like you guys. I like having friends like this. It's new. It's nice." She nodded with a sincere smile and walked out, closing the door behind her.
Lindsay turned to her mirror, "She's not the only one that feels that way, to be honest. People used to pretend to be my friend as a joke. I don't think I've ever had a real friend."
Sierra shook her head, opening her phone, "That makes all three of us." She followed Savana back on Instagram after finally finding her in a long list of followers. Lindsay texted both girls a heart in a group chat and Savana posted a selfie they all took together on campus and tagged them with the caption: 'The very best friends a girl could have! Love you guys!'
Michael swung his arm out for Savana to lay down on his chest, "So you ready to watch movies?"
Savana nodded and sat as Lindsay latched her necklace and walked out into the living room. "You look really good, Linds." Savana spoke as she popped a lollipop in her mouth and watched her walk towards her purse.
"Thank you." Lindsay said, looking distracted.
"Phone?"
"Yeah. You know where it is?"
"Back pocket."
After a moment of silence, Lindsay's bare feet lightly smacked against the floor as she muttered a 'Thank you,' hurrying back into the room to put her shoes on. It was 8:07 and Niall was anxious.
Niall drove them to dinner and Lindsay loved every moment. They talked about everything. Lindsay's life, family, schooling, nothing was left out. After dinner, the two went to a nearby park. The lights that illuminated the fall walkway was gorgeous.
"You know," Niall spoke, breaking the silence, "I know that this was a rushed date, but did you have fun?"
"Of course I did! Why wouldn't I?" Lindsay smiled, looking at the blonde boy next to her.
Niall shrugged, "I-I don't know. I'm not really known for being romantic. Half of this wasn't planned, and I just felt like you didn't like it."
Lindsay smiled and stepped in front of him, placing a hand on his chest, "Only one thing to make it better." She leaned closer to his face and lightly pressed her lips to his. She smiled and took a breath of relief.
Niall melted into the kiss, placing his hands on her waist just above her hips. Lindsay's hands found their way to his cheeks and pulled him closer. They stayed like that for a bit: kissing underneath a yellow street lamp, the leaves slightly blowing around them. Once they broke apart, they looked into each other's eyes with smiles.
"You're right," Niall chuckled, "That did make the night better."
"Better?" Lindsay looked at him excitedly, "it made the night perfect!"
