Chapter 24

NOBODY'S POV

Paige just sat back in the corner of the lift and decided to call Dougie.

The phone rang and it seamed like he was never going to answer and she was going to be stuck in there.

After calling Dougie about 4 times he finally answered.

"Hey babe what's up?"

"Hey Dougie? I'm stuck in a lift and I can't get any help. I've tried shouting but no one answered" she replied sounding scared.

"Ok babe dot worry I'll come and get u. Were are u?"

"I'm at toms hospital and I Emily's here to"

"Ok just calm down ull be fine babe I'll be there as soon as possible. I love u"

He said trying to be calm before ending the call.

DOUGIE'S POV

As soon as Paige called me I got up and threw a load of random clothes out of my wardrobe and put them on. I didn't even bother washing, then I grabbed my keys and locked my door then ran to my car.

Once I got to the hospital I ran up and past everything and everyone. I ran up four flights of stairs until I got to floor B.

Dougie: Paige?

Paige: DOUGIE! I'm in here!

Dougie: (pushing on the door) don't worry babe I'm here now. I'm gonna get u outta here.

I pushed as hard as I could on the lift door but it wouldn't budge.

Dougie: I'm just gonna get someone and I'll be right back.

Paige: (gulps) erm... Doug?!

Dougie: paige? What is it?! Babe are u ok?!

Paige: Doug I think the babies are coming! Doug I need to get outta here. Please Doug don't leave me!

Dougie: (too worried to speak or know what to do) erm... Just... Erm don't worry babe! I'll get u out in time don't worry I just need to get someone with a key.

She suddenly started to shout and scream in pain.

Paige: oh god ok Doug just please hurry up! Ooow! (Yelling in pain)

I ran off hoping she was going to be ok and the babies would be fine.

~about 15 minutes later~

I came back with the man with the key for the lift and I told him all about how toms in hospital and Paige is stuck in the lift and is now in labour.

I ran with the man to the lift doors and he got out his keys. There were lots of different keys and I knew this was going to take a while.

Dougie: please hurry up! Sorry but she's pregnant and we need to get her to the doctor now!

Man: ok I'm sorry.... Im trying my best there's just so many keys.

He tried millions of keys (not literally) but non of them worked.

Paige: ahhh! (Out of breath and in pain) help! Quick please!!!

Man: ok ok one second please

Dougie: don't worry baby ur gonna be fine. Just breathe. Don't worry.

I kept trying to stay calm but it was taking too long. I couldn't bare it just standing there not being able to do anything while my soon to be wife and mother of my children is in labour. I kept telling Paige that she's going to be ok and to not worry but to be honest I was worrying. A lot.

Once the man finally got the right key and unlocked the door I ran into the lift and grabbed Paige, kissing her on the head. I lifted her up and held her in my arms bridal style to one of the nurses.

Dougie: thank you!

I shouted over to the man with the keys as we left.

I took her into a room and all the nurses came around her shoving me away and telling me to leave.

Dougie: no please u don't understand! I need to be here! Please just let me be with my fiancée!

Nurse: (sighs) ok come in then.

I sat on the seat next to her as I held her hand. She kept squeezing it so hard until I couldn't feel it any more.

I sat there worrying about her and the babies while she laid there screaming and shouting in pain.

I don't know what to do. I'm not ready for this. Why is she in labour now? It's not time yet. What if the babies aren't ok. What if they die. What if something happens to Paige?

~hours later~

After all the waiting and seeing Paige in so much pain the babies were born. The doctors and nurses crowded around her as she screamed one last time and our first little baby was born. I've never been any good with blood and I felt like I was going to faint but when I saw our baby I didn't really mind.

The nurses took our baby away and Paige looked really tired. She turned to face me and she looked happy that it was all ok. The nurse came back with our baby and passed him too us.

Nurse: here u go. Ur baby is a boy. He seems to be fine at the moment but we'll need to keep him in for a while longer just in case. He's a bit too small but I think he might just be fine.

We both smiled at each other and I kissed her on the forehead. We both looked down at our baby boy as the nurse passed him to Paige. He sat in her arms so peacefully.

Not long after Paige started to breathe heavily and yelled, shouting at the nurses to get the baby.

The nurse came as grabbed our baby boy and more nurses came crowding around her again. I started to panic. I took her hand again, waiting for my hand to go numb again. I had no idea what was happening.

Nurse: don't worry, she's going to be ok. Are u supposed to be having twins?

Dougie: erm yes. Yes we are

I got told to go and wait out side until Paige had, had our other baby.

Once Paige had our last baby girl I got let back in. As soon as I walked into the room I ran up to Paige and gave her a big hug and I kissed her before sitting back down next to her. Our two babies were passed back to us both and I held out baby boy as Paige held our little baby girl. I looked into Paige's gorgeous blue eyes then at our twins. This was a perfect moment, I couldn't think of anything else apart from the fact that everything is all going to be ok.
