I was overwhelmed by the madness of it all. I was hit to the ground with a large thud. My head throbbed. My neck felt weak and she knocked the air from my lungs. I was in pain.

I felt as if I was the only one fighting.

An arrow went in Caitlin's hand. She screeched and flew up to the sniper.

They disappeared into the fog. Grant helped me up. I struggled to breathe but finally caught my breath. I watched him run over to Zoe and pick her up.

He ran in the direction of Chrys and Wendell.

Five out and three in.

Blaze and Ocean came back into earshot. I turned. They were working together. Blaze was shooting hot lava from her hands and Ocean was cooling it into rock. I didn't know Blaze could do that.

Caitlin struggled to break free, and Ocean and Blaze were weakening. I shot vines to keep Caitlin still so it would be easier but then I realized I'm worn out.

I heard something like crashing metal that froze all four of us. A giant metal lamp post fell in Caitlin's direction. I held her to the ground. My vision began going black but I shook it off.

"Run!" I told Ocean and Blaze. "I'm not leaving you!" Blaze said. I didn't argue. I watched as the fat metal crashed on top of Caitlin.

I collapsed gasping for air.

Ash came into view and smiled. "I melted all the important pieces so it would fall." She laughed. I watched her walk over to Caitlin. "She's dead." She said.

Blaze and Ocean helped me up and we walked over to the injured team.

It was worse than I thought.

Chrys was laying on the ground beside Wendell and Zoe. Grant was ripping away the bloody clothes so no infection was possible. I wiped my forehead but my hand came back soaking wet.

"He's unconscious." Grant panted. I fell beside him and ripped away the whole shirt. It was a foot long and an inch wide, but it was two inches deep. Grant took some rick and made a couple of bowls. Ocean filled them with water. I took a piece of Wendell's shit and dipped in in the cool water.

I worked at the wound. Blaze worked on Chrys's wrist. He was still conscious.

I gagged. I wiped away the blood and gor. Purple and yellow filled the canyon. I wiped it out. The water was brown.

I heard coughing. He was awake. "Wendell." He smiled a half smile. "It's-not-gonna-kill-me." He said in between breaths. "It's-made-to-make-us-suffer." He continued.

I grabbed a huge chunk of shirt and wrapped around his scratch.

He got up. Chrys did the same and Zoe was tiredly leaning on Grant.

We all marched to the capital building together.
