Vincent's jaw was hanging. How come he didn't consider the fact that he could run into Iris. She looked too perfect to put into words. She looked so happy and carefree now.
"Iris...I'm I- I'm in your way." He stuttered. Iris just stared at him. Vincent felt his face turn red. He couldn't stop thinking about the kiss they shared before she left. He wanted nothing more than to go for it again. But he couldn't just kiss her after 3 years of separation. Goodness he wanted to though.
"It's fine I should get back out there." She said awkwardly walking by him before stopping and turning around. "It was nice to see you Vince. You look good." She went off walking back to her table.
Vincent's eyes followed her longingly. He ignored the lustful stares of women looking at him trying to talk to him as his eyes remained on Iris.
3 years was way too damn long for him. He didn't think he'd be able to go another.
"I'm guessing you found her." Carol's voice rang in his ears. Vincent jumped but then scowled at her.
"Cut it out Carol. Leave it alone." His voice lowered as he watched Iris talk to the man next to her. Who's hand was on her back. "Vincent calm down." Carol said placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I am calm." He gritted with his eyes zoned in on the guys hand on Iris. Suddenly the glass he didn't know he had in his hand shattered making eyes snap to their table.
"Vincent! People are watching. They are going to know who you're looking at." She whisper yelled.
Vincent didn't even look away from the man with Iris. The man took Iris's hand guiding her toward the dance floor before embracing her as they swayed back and forth.
Vincent didn't know how much he could take. He stared hard with his jaw clenched. Carol chewed on her lips nervously she couldn't tell what Vincent would do and she hoped that he wouldn't make a scene.
Vincent grabbed a glass of water taking a deep gulp before standing to his feet with determination with his eyes. Everyone watching his every move in apprehension.

Iris rested her head in Bennett's shoulder as they danced. So many thoughts were running through her mind after running into Vincent.
Her head was all over the place but every thought she had was consumed of him. He looked different, seemed different. Iris didn't think she was opposed to it either.
"You're a good dancer." Bennett's brought her back to reality. "So are you." Iris notes. They were silent for a moment as Iris thought about the brooding man who she could feel staring at her.
"Iris I think you're beautiful." Bennett whispered in her ear. "Thank you Bennett." She replies shyly.
It felt wrong. Being in this man's arms felt wrong. Everything about the situation felt wrong. Iris tried to shake off the feeling of discomfort but couldn't seem to.
"Can I cut in?" A deep voice interrupted the moment. Iris lifted her head up in a panic connecting eyes with Vincent.
It was a question. But she knew Vincent wasn't asking. He was only going to say it once.
Bennett visibly tensed. He knew better than to cross Madden so he backed away from Iris wearily. Iris inhaled anxiously feeling the eyes of everyone around them.
People wanting to know who the negro was that stole Vincent Maddens attention. Vincent held his hand out toward her. Iris shakily took a hold of it before placing her hand on his shoulder.
